Hey there, it’s the end of my first semester here at UF. Unfortunately, I have failed cop3502. Now, I’m not sure how things normally go here, but I feel like having 150 students in a 400 student class drop out and another 50 students fail might be a red flag to the faculty. Am I wrong? Or am I justified and should I speak to an advisor? I know UF is a very competitive university but this seems a little radical.
Talk with an advisor. You’ll want to know your options.
It’s not uncommon to see a significant % of a class drop (which then raises the curve, making it even harder for those that stay to pass/get a good grade). Especially in critical classes, which tend to be very rigorous.
A big key to succeeding at UF, is making that transition from HS to college. Classes like COP 3502 require that you keep up with the work, get into a study group, and over prepare for the test.
