In years past they’ve announced cv notification with a vandy admissions blog post. They just put up a new blog post yesterday (thursday) titled “10 Must_Follow VU Social Media Accounts.” My guess is that most new posts are put up to be enjoyed for a few days. So I’m thinking this means no award announcement until Monday. It’s always possible it could be today afterall it is Friday. But it wouldn’t make sense to put a new post up that would be viewed for less than 48 hours, so unfortunately it is probably Monday. The late notification may make sense given the snow days we’ve all had, maybe they’ve been delayed. I’m thinking my S didn’t get CV because like lilyphyu, he’s the most normal kid with normal stats. But it would still be nice to know.

It’s because they’re on spring break probably

S was not selected. 34 ACT; 7 AP tests - all 5; 12 on AP writing; 4.42 (weighted) / 3.97 unweighted; very good extracurriculars. Must have been very competitive. Best to others still waiting to hear.

How do you know he wasn’t selected?

I was not selected either, 35 ACT, 4.0 GPA, Good EC’s but nothing extraordinary. I am not feeling bad because I already got into Vandy (MOSAIC) and getting the award would have not made a financial difference anyways! I am expected to get pretty much the same (probably more) amount of money in grants from Vandy. Congrats to whoever did get it though!

Sorry. Meant to say that he received an email this afternoon - arrived at 3:31, in case that helps. Goes on to say, “However, we are continuing the process of selecting scholarship recipients for a small number of other merit-based awards. These award recipients will be notified by April 1.”

My S did not get it either 33 ACT, 5.2 W GPA, 10 APs, very good ECs.

I didn’t get CV: 36 ACT, 2360 SAT, 4.0 GPA, lots of scientific research, ECs very solid but not extraordinary. Kind of discouraged now.

My S didn’t get it either: 34 ACT, valedictorian, 4.817 W GPA, good EC’s athletics, music, community service. Don’t get discouraged mnum76 a 36 ACT, u rock! The students who win these scholarships have extraordinary resumes that leave me wondering why they need to apply to college. Ha!

S got it! so so happy He is also going for the Mosaic weekend. We are humbled and honored. I am sure that so many worthy candidates would be heart broken and feel for them. Our best to all and congrats to the other winners.

S not selected - RD, 35 ACT, 5.7 W GPA, 9 APs, Good ECs

D got it also! We are humbled and thrilled. Congrats @rani9933. Those that have posted that didn’t receive the CV, it seems obvious that you ALL were worthy. Congratulations on your many accomplishments anyway.

Congrats @Belle315. Is your daughter going for the mosaic weekend too?

I got it, I am so happy. The wonderful thing about this scholarship is that Vandy is now much more affordable than any other comparable school for me

Thanks, @rani9933. No, D was not invited. How exciting for your S, though! I hear they will really roll out the red carpet! Has he made his final decision yet?

Congrats @huehuehue32! Does this mean “Anchor down” for you in the fall?

Most likely. I have applied to places like Harvard, Princeton, MIT, Stanford and co. but they would be end up costing over six figures (over 4 years) more than Vandy. Vanderbilt is just as good and a whole lot more affordable, and closer to home.

I am not sure that you can use merit scholarships from schools like Vandy to negotiate aid packages, though. If so, things may change

@Belle315 S is still waiting to hear back from other colleges. He was also accepted early at USC and he just attended the Presidential interview there and they sure impressed my son, but now Vanderbilt becomes a much more viable option and is definitely in play. I think as NMF he will also get an additional 2k per year. What about your daughter? Congrats to her and goodluck.

Congrats @huehuehue32 and Goodluck with your other applications as well.

Congratulations to those who got it! Could you post your stats. Just curious in there is something in common.

36 ACT 4.0 GPA uw (10 AP classes, will end up taking 12 tests), 2360 SAT, SAT2: 800 800 800 750. College of engineering

No CV for me either :/
