This isn’t really a chance me thread - I was just wondering about Cornell’s “average” ACT. According to prepscholar, Cornell’s average is around a 32. However, according to the Cornell results threads I’ve glossed over on this site, very few people get into Cornell with 32s. Is the average being dragged down by URMs and legacies? As a white affluent male (non legacy), would a 33 ACT, double 800s on Chem and Math II, and a 4.0 UW/4.65 W GPA suffice?
This is for chemical engineering btw
Your ACT is completely fine. I think a 33 would be right around the 50% percentile for normal acceptances (non athletes non legacy). Right now, just make sure to put extracurriculares that are related to your major (Chemical engineering) and since you already have a 800 on Chem, you’ll be in with great essays and some leadership.
Excellent stats. Just work on good essays and the rest of your application. I don’t think leadership is essential, personally.
Tiny sample size and probably skews towards higher end of the range.
