Cornell AEM vs. Economics Major? Also, chances at Dartmouth, Yale, Duke, Brown, Columb

I don't know whether I should apply to Cornell for AEM (Business Management) in the School of Agriculture and Life Sciences or for the Economics Major in the School of Arts and Sciences. I know the acceptance rate for AEM is 19%, which my mom thinks is very very high and I'll 'definitely' get in, but I'm still nervous. Do you know the acceptance rates for Economics? It's the most popular major in Arts and Sciences, I believe. I'm trying to 'play' the stats because Cornell is the school that I 'need' to get into... I was going to apply to engineering and I most probably would've gotten in b/c there's a 50% acceptance rate for females... but I don't have an SAT II in a science.

Do you think you can also evaluate my chances at Dartmouth, Yale, Duke, Brown, Columbia, Brandeis, Princeton, UPenn?

Here are my statistics:

SAT: 800 CR, 720 M, 730 W
SAT II: 780 U.S. History, 770 Math L1, 770 Lit

GPA: 97 weighted

Classes: AP European, AP Chem, AP Physics, AP U.S. History, AP Economics, AP Gov, AP Calc, AP English Lit, AP English Language

and every Honors class otherwise

Possible Weakness: I stopped taking Spanish after 10th grade, but I recieved a Regents Diploma in it, so I DO have 'proficiency'.

EC: Pres of Mock Trial, Pres of Science Olympiads, Captain and Diver on Varsity Swim, various other activites

Recs: Very good, I think... supplemental, I got one from my county's Bar Assoc Pres., whom I work with in Mock Trial, and one from my principal too

Essays: Superb, I think.

... and I'm an Asian female (from a NY suburb no less), so that probably counts against me in the Ivies

thank you.

Feed back will be welcome!

!!!!!!!!!!!

19% acceptance rate in AEM and your mom thinks you'll definitely get in?? Does your mom realize that means 81% do not get in. Well since you have mock trial experience and you are taking courses in history and economics did you check out the ILR program at Cornell. My d is in the program. It's a very specific curriculum but if it works for you and you "NEED" to get into Cornell, I suggest you check it out. Stats show that females have much better than a 19% shot at getting into ILR. But Cornell does not take kindly to kids who try to play the stats to get accepted. That's why alot of kids who view Cornell as their safety get rejected. As you are doing mock trials and about 1/3 of ILR graduates go to law school, you should check out the program.
