Cornell and Rescinding admissions....

does anyone have an idea of how bad your 4th quarter grads can dip?
and do they compare the new cumulative gpa with the old gpa or just the final semester gpa with the old gpa? man.....coz i sure am cuttin it close.

What kind of grades are you getting?

i had a 4.0 when i applied....
right now i have one solid B, 2 0%s, and 3 Es.........but im always hopin to improve.

What's an E? Does that correspond to some percentage grade, or is it like a D? Where are you from that uses that system?

0%???

If your grades are dropping that much, I would think you're in some serious hot water. Failing anything would most likely be very bad, and just to be safe, you should probably try to raise your grades to C's and higher.

I'm a prospective student too, though, so don't just get up to a C and stop trying, because I would hate for you to get rescinded for something like that.

Be very careful btboxpunk. If your GPA drops below 3.0, there will be some serious questions to answer. If you drop much below 3.0 (like to a 2.5), Cornell could place you on probation (it will stay on your record) or possibly even rescind your offer. It is one thing to ease up once you are accepted, it is another to forget school altogether.

Are you a transfer student?

I have the same question as you.

On my acceptance letter on the bottom it does say that admissions is conditional upon completion of course with satisfactory grades (As and Bs).

It was something along the lines of that. I'm quite certain about the "As and Bs" part. What if I get 1 C+. While the rest are your As and Bs.

Arghh....very worried.

i have a question. see the CALS, especially bio major hasn't releasing much and my status hasn't change. but the CALS admissions told me that the letter was send to me and they cannot tell me the finall decision via email,so what's the letter for?

here is the reply: ***:A decision has been made on your application and the letter was mailed to you on Monday, May 2, 2005. Due to confidentiality reasons I am unable to provide you with your decision through email. You letter should be reaching you within the next week.

nothing changed on my status except the note is missing. so what is the letter for? i am anxious!!!!

hiphim, the letter holds your decision. You won't know what it is till you get it.

Till then, hang on and good luck.

An e is a 50%

im just an enterin freshman......
dammit now ill have to study

So 50% = failling? what about the 0%?

It's confusing, we're not familliar with that scale. Can you calrify and give your overall?

You can have tons of Bs, and even Cs, but Ds, and Fs will get you in trouble...

i do have time to booost up my grades if i do all the make up work and take tests.
0% is also an e. 50% is a solid e.

... i don't understand how people can just start failing. to be honest, if you are getting 0%, expect your admission to be rescinded (and rightfully so, dear god, a 0%...)

Call and have a chat with them about your concerns? WHat school did you apply to?

CAS.........but that 0% is because i dont go to those classes anymore.
i am plannin to turn in my previous assignments to get partial credit. and the minimum partial credit at our school is 50%, so hopefully i can get upto a C. My first quarter grades were 5 As and 1 B......i jus cant keep from skippin school with my friends!

btbox, are you aware of Cornell's reputation as the hardest and most rigorous Ivy? Are you sure it's a good match?

btbox, why did you totally skip class all together?

You really don't have a good explaination as far as the college is concerned. I can't even immagine being in such a bad position.

If you don't attend school now, what are you going to do when you have much more freedom and many more distractions?? Especially at CU, there is no hand-holding. . . .(help is available, but only if you take the responsibility to look for it)
