@mommto3 My school uses Naviance so I’m not sure if that’s how the Q1 was sent in. But I am taking supplemental courses at another school, and Cornell said to send those directly to undergradapp@cornell.edu with my name and birthdate in the email. Your counselor can probably just call Cornell and ask best way to send them? Also, I did not request the interview but was sent an email asking if I’d like one. I think the CAAAN network is pretty active where I live.
Question about checklist - it only tells me 2 teacher evaluations were recieved (2 required) but I had a third- how do I make sure that was recieved??
@do2020 you can check what docs have been downloaded by visiting the Recommenders & FERPA section in Common App. Go to my colleges, cornell and then Recommenders & FERPA
I asked my counselor, he said if cornell asked, he will send , otherwise will not sent
I’m soooooo nervous! Cornell is my dream school!
Praying for all of us
Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing well XD I am wondering if I should contact the AO to confirm whether or not they have received my 2nd SAT score report… I’ve sent two score reports (1st one only SAT I; 2nd one has both SAT I & SAT II scores) and it shows that they have received the 1st score report on the portal… Also, has anyone submitted supplemental material? What did you submit? Thanks so much in advance!!
@do2020 Same thing, called admissions and they said “it will only show the required 2 teacher recs on the checklist but that if it appears on your Ferpa then rest assured we received it.”
@sunshinestateg Thank u!!!
@momofsenior1 If the CAAAN interview are only informational sessions (non evaluative) then why have the interviews for ED applicants after the ED deadline has passed? what value is it adding to the applicant who has already signed the ED document? I can understand offering these sessions to RD candidates who will have choices and need additional input in deciding.
To clarify, the 11/1 deadline is for submission of the application by the students.
CAAAN meetings are supposed to be done, and reports submitted, before 12/1 for ED applicants.
Decisions aren’t released until mid December.
I had my CAAAN interview last week. It was really enjoyable and I actually learned a few things I didn’t know before I went. As my interviewer was a graduate of the same program I applied to, it was really great to find out how Cornell shaped his future career, what classes he chose, etc. If you have an opportunity to do one, do it - I have to imagine having a positive report from your interview can potentially help you. Plus it’s just nice knowing you may have a local mentor if you gain admissions.
@momofsenior1 @fourstarfun thanks for your feedback!
Anyone know how common interviews are for ED applicants? My DD hasn’t heard anything about an interview.
@Musicmom2015 - It totally depends on the number of alumni in your area. Where I used to live another chair in a nearby area didn’t have the ability to do any ED interviews because she had so few volunteers.
Make sure your D is checking her spam folder though just in case because we use our personal emails to communicate with students.
My daughter last year had a interview thought it went well but she was denied so I’m not really sure the interview has any bearing on the decision
@momofsenior1 Do you know the specific date that ED decisions will be released? If not, do you know when that date will be posted?
@David124, I hadn’t officially heard a specific date, other than “mid December” but when I double checked, I saw this: https://admissions.cornell.edu/news/early-decision-applicants-6
@momofsenior1 is that from last year?
@student8888 I’m unsure, it could be.
I haven’t officially heard anything directly from Cornell about the notification date for this cycle.
It’s December 10th this year. It’s updated on their website.
