Cornell Class of 2024 ED

Has anyone received Cornell’s emailing asking for the Q1 grades? Is receiving that request a bad thing or good thing. I’m so stressed rn cuz my Q1 grades aren’t that strong.

I really think that they would only request if you’re a “borderline” applicant in terms of grades. Don’t sweat it if you didn’t receive one, or by having a few B’s if they request!

@melqool did Cornell email you? Or are you asking if anyone has received an email! I applied ED to SHA and didn’t receive an email

Does anyone’s financial aid checklist show anything yet? Ours says “No current To Do information found”. I submitted FAFSA 10/31, CSS 11/10 & IDOC 11/12. Financial Aid told me by email that the system is updating so they can’t help me but I should check back in early December.

@momofsenior1 My friend and I both applied ED and received an email about a Cornell Alumni Open House (they provided a location and a timeframe). I was wondering if you knew whether events like these are one-on-one or in a group format. I also know that these conversations are not supposed to be evaluative, but I read online that these meetings are meant to “confirm and enhance the picture of the applicant already presented in her/his application,” which I feel serves the same purpose as an interview. I really want to go to Cornell but am nervous that my application will be hurt if I am unable to properly convey my personality and passions to the ambassador - is this a valid concern? Thanks!

@frgiven - Each region has their own process for reaching out to as many students as possible. I don’t know if you’ll have one on one meetings or a group conversation. Feel free to ask the question when you RSVP.

Don’t stress about this meeting! It’s really more for the alumni group to share their enthusiasm about Cornell and to answer your questions.

Come prepared with questions and to be able to articulate why you applied to Cornell.

@momofsenior1 Thank you for the information and tips!

My meeting went so well…I wish it would count!!

Would you know how many ED applicants Human Ecology averages?

200 spots for 2700 applications for human ecology

Financial aid checklist problem - please help!! So on my applicant id financial aid checklist, it still says my FAFSA has not been completed for weeks and it has been submitted for weeks now. I recieved a confirmation email from FAFSA that my thing has been processed but my Cornell sign in still has that on my to do list for at least 2 weeks now. What do I do??

@do2020 You don’t need to worry! I had the same issue (I had submitted my FAFSA a month ago and gotten the confirmation email, but it was still incomplete on my checklist) so a week ago I emailed the financial aid office and they replied:

“The reason why your FAFSA is still listed on your “To Do” List is because we have not yet begun to load FAFSA data for the 2020-2021 academic year. This should be occurring soon. As long as you listed Cornell University on your recipient list, there is nothing to worry about. Once your FAFSA data is loaded, you will see the FAFSA drop off of your “To Do” List.”

Did anyone receive an email today from admissions processing? The email discussed the binding agreement and whether You wanted to continue as an ED applicant.

@student88888 I did!!

Yes, my son got the email too. Is this something all ED applicants receive ?

Is the email from admission processing asking the recipient to complete the “Parent ED Agreement”?

how many apply ED?

There were about 6,000 ED applicants last year.

Does anyone know the exact stats for how many people apply CALS ED?

@Zephyr212 No, it’s an email from the Cornell Processing Center that states they have received your application and to remind you that Early Decision is binding.

@student88888 @DreamHuntsman @bossbabe thanks for the update. i have not received the email regarding the binding agreement. Did any CHE applicant get this mail? which college applicants have got this mail? trying to find out if this was college specific mailer.
