<p>I'm going up to Cornell on Friday the 9th, but I'm not staying overnight so I obviously don't need a host. Do I need to register in advance, or can I basically just show up? I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, and, since I'm excessively lazy, can someone tell me what site I need to go to in order to register? (a link would be awesome) Thanks.</p>
<p>I believe you have to register either way on the Cornell Days website.

<p>heh, I just sent in my registration for tomorrow (didn't realize you needed to register if you're just staying the day)</p>
<p>So hopefully they won't mind. . . . .I doubt they are going to turn away accepted students who registered late.</p>
<p>i signed up to go there on tuesday (12th), also indicating that i need a host. but i did it only yesterday. when will i get my confirmation? i need to book a plane ticket, but i wouldn't be able to do it until they tell me it's okay. </p>

<p>I tried to reserve an overnight stay on last sunday for friday but i never received a confirmation. so when i showed up they said i must have messed up and signed up for a day trip, but they didn't have me down for that either. a good number of people didn't get a room while i was there so i don't think it was my fault, but i can't blame them too much when there are hundreds of requests coming in every day. if you go and don't get a dorm you can just sign in as a day visitor (without signing up beforehand). though the second day i didn't sign in again because i had the schedule for the day so i just wandered around on my own - signing in doesn't really do anything.</p>

<p>If you're going for a day trip and didn't make reservations, that's ok, they don't care in the slightest.</p>
<p>However, if you're staying the night, I assume that's another story.</p>

were you with your host or on your own for the most of the time? the brochure makes it sound like i have to plan out my schedule and go to these different tours/sessions. are you given any direction or is it sorta like an adventure? hehe. did you guys like it there? i'm excited, but scared at the same time.</p>

<p>ill prob get there between 3 and 4...not sure when we're leaving yet. i wanted to go by myself, but when i went to visit last april, i went with my mom, and he wants to see the campus. we should meet up when we get there!</p>

<p>what is the confirmation? is it only if you are getting a host, or if it is just if you are going? i registered online a few days ago for this friday the 15th and saturday the 16th, but i haven't gotten any confirmation on that. All i have gotten is an email about a minute after saying thanks for registering. is that the confirmation? or is the confirmation something else which says your name and the date you are attending? or is it only for people that will be having a host?</p>
