cornell decision email: wrong submitted date?

just wondering but i dont understand how you decided where to cut off each of the groups, could you explain that a little plzzz

Just take all the reported times and make a timeline out of them. Beetween 12:33 and 12:54 there was a large 21 minute silent period, so that seems to make a seperation of the groups, etc. I just cant make sense of the 2nd group, and this cant be too college dependent because I believe there are CAS applicant in each of the tiers.

I believe he used the huge time differences to differentiate. You could theoretically say that 1:28-1:44 could be a separate group too...

ok now i see how you did it, got it, ya that seems to make more sense now

*** you guys... are you serious?
well i might as well feed the flame... although i do think this is ridiculous.

2:04 - CAS - English- maybe/likely? no likely letter or anything... have a sibling that goes to Cornell but I don't know if that counts as legacy...

I highly doubt Cornell is guilty of Tufts Syndrome (yield protection), because if you look at their admission stats for last year http://dpb.cornell.edu/documents/1000001.pdf you'll see that they accepted 5000+ applicants for RD, even though only 1900 enrolled.

1:17- bioengineering.... i think i have a good shot... i've gotten into duke, northwestern, and cmu... waitlisted at jhu...

Well from your breakdown we can see that the largest group are rejections while the other groups are pretty much unknown whether to be waitlisted or acceptance.

Did you ever think of the possibility that it might just be random? I doubt Cornell would be so obvious as to reveal its admissions decisions simply by the time it registered a student.

There have been some people who posted their times without adding them to the list, so I've gone back and merged them with the final list so far. All in the name of more data. ;)

any hotelies have times?
i'm 12:26 hotel- maybe

yeah but think about it. this is cc so the largest group may be acceptances

u think the time we spent on this so far was foreseeable, i would never have guessed that anyone would try so hard to find something in quite possibly nothing

I mean, I know it seems random, but I think it has more to deal with schools then status...

Deferred from ED...dunno how likely (no letter)

trackdude- its a good way to pass time IMO

also is it possible that times are by region or distance from cornell (maybe even name of the state) or has that been disproven already

scratch the 1:17... i was looking at the time i got my email haha... mine was 1:28...- bioengineering.... i think i have a good shot... i've gotten into duke, northwestern, and cmu... waitlisted at jhu...

Since I applied to computer science, I can't help but notice that there are four comp sci majors (one for CAS, two for CAS/COE, one undeclared) at 12:26, and only two others on the whole list. Coincidence?

no i defintely agree with you ninj4 i was responding to Reticulum because i doubt cornell or any school would expect so many people to spend so much time on this...so i think there is a pattern based prob on decision...imo it is a great way to spend time especially when i can avoid my ap bio, orgo, and ap french hw for a while :)

Did anyone bring up names? It could just be alphabetical....
