As has been noted several times the interview process w alums is driven by CAAN, local (or relatively local) alumni volunteer network. If there are alums in your area who have volunteered, they get assigned students to contact and hopefully meet with. Not 100% of the alums do their jobs and not 100% of students set up interviews. Sometimes email goes into spam folders, etc. I do know that all of the alums got a notice that today (Nov 30) was the deadline to meet w ED applicants and Dec 1 is the deadline to submit a meeting report … bottom line, it’s not evaluative and not required outside of AAP and Hotel … so don’t sweat it!
@reformedman I got called last Friday, according to the Cornell website only 50-60% of applicants get an interview due to geography and other factors, it shouldn’t affect admission chances. I’ll try to find that website for you
I had requested for an off-campus AAP interview, but apparently the interviewer in my area wasn’t available. So I had to submit an interview essay instead.
I really wanted a face-to-face interview because I find it much easier to express myself with verbal tones and facial expressions rather than with words. Plus, I didn’t have much more to say after my two usual essays. I just hope it wasn’t too bad. Anyway, got my fingers crossed, and good luck to you all!
Only 8 more days until my supreme disappointment! Good luck everyone!!
Good luck to myself and everyone else!
im freaking out!! does anyone know when the class of 2020 were told the admissions notifications date??? i feel like they would’ve told us by now!!! ahhhhhhh good luck
@jionrubia someone said in this thread very recently IIRC they were emailed the Monday before the decisions were released, which means the email shouldn’t be coming until Monday.
I’ve heard that in the past, if students were set to hear back on a Thursday, they would be notified that Monday with the specific date and time…we’ll see what happens! Good luck to everyone
Ahhhh I’m so nervous! Good luck to everyone, hope we all see each other next year
Are decisions 100% released dec 8? and is all of Cornell released the same day or the different schools release on their own time? Also, is it going to be in batches, or all at once?
For the first question, the answer is no. Nobody is 100% sure about the date unless Cornell posts the date on their official admissions website. All admissions decisions are released at the same time.
This is what I’m hoping for: the admissions committee fears that international students will hesitate to come to the US since Trump is in power now (we all know his immigrant policies @-) ), and ends up accepting as many international students as possible in ED to balance the class while they can.
I’m kinda swinging to and fro between crazy optimism and crazy pessimism!
So a week now huh? Well that’s going to be nerve-wracking for me.
ITS DECEMBER GUYS!!!
Anybody posting their reaction video? Those are always fun to watch.
EDIT-funniest one to watch is called ‘A perfect score’

@reformedman Haha yeah I’ve seen that. I’m gonna meet the same fate as him so if I make a reaction video, he’ll probably sue me for plagiarism
Is there any relationship b/w Early Decision and F.Aid process? I am wondering if F.Aid document request in my To-Do-List has not been ordered yet, does it mean “no admission offered”? What do you think?
@firstpet I have the same concern. Hope there’s no relation!
