Cornell ED Class of 2021 Discussion Thread

@drakonus hahahha kinda awkward but good idea

Me and a close friend are just gonna go drive out to the river with some green tea ice cream she likes and I’ll open it there, it’s a win-win as I have ice cream either way.

@drakonus I think it could be interesting for whoever gets in to meet up, it could help us make connections early

Hey everyone! Applied CAS with a French major. I don’t think I’ve seen any other language majors on this thread - anyone know if they are particularly difficult to get into? I’m so nervous for Thursday even though I’m pretty positive I’ll be rejected :-&

@drakonus hey! I noticed that you were aiming for CAS for English and CS, I’m aiming for CAS for English and either Psych with a neuroscience concentration or neurobiology (aiming for neuro for grad school), and I know that there’s a lot of a fields that combine CS and neuro. It’s kind of cool to find someone with sort of similar divided interests. Are you used to the weird looks when you tell people what you want to study? :))

@nargles19 @drakonus must have made for a very interesting personal essay!

Hi everyone! I’ve been lurking around here for months. I applied to COE for electrical and computer engineering. Any of you guys on here? I wanted to wish us all best of luck for Thursday, and I’m so nervous and anxious for my results along with the rest of you.

@nargles19 Haha definitely the weird looks! Literally two opposites sides of the spectrum… and @vigilia it made the cornell supplement essay very difficult to write at first :frowning: i wasn’t sure how to explain my diverse interests in just 650 words-- but i managed to pull it off in the end!

Hi i’m applying to Human Ecology - Fashion & Design Management. Who else is applying to that major (:

@mc1217 me too! i’m really nervous though. i keep thinking i should have applied to the college of arts and sciences for computer science instead considering i come from a pretty strong humanities background :frowning: and engineering is so selective

anyone here applying to CALS Applied Economics & Management? i’m pretty scared because its such a selective program :((

Any gotten that email yet?

Same here @mc1217. I’ve just been reading and learning. I did the same thing as you! Applied to CoE for Electrical and Computer Engineering. It’s really hard to keep it together but we have all made it this far so we can all last two more days. I keep hopping around between definitely in and definitely out because like everyone said, it’s very selective and unpredictable. There’s no magic formula to give you a guaranteed acceptance letter. We will just have to wait and see.

-As for how I’m going to open the letter, I think I’ll have my parents with me and a few really close friends said they wanted to come to my house to support me either way! FINGERS CROSSED

@peskid no email to be found yet

Guys is there ANYONE who’s applied to CAS as a prospective Government major?? Haven’t found a single one in the thread so far.

@dattitude I am! and having the same concerns…

Hello all, I’ve been disguised as a forum visitor but I’m actually an admissions officer. I see that you all have a great amount of zeal for our institution and this is the kind of people we need. I’d like to offer you all admission so please hang tight and I’ll get you all in.

@reformedman I wish :,(

@reformedman I’m proud to tell you that I am in fact not a forum visitor but an admissions officer admission officer, and I will make sure you are an admissions officer for years.

@Shrilkshire I like your spunk, full ride and graduate school for you.
