I’m glad everyone is keeping their spirits up!
Lol financial aid just emailed me saying I might have to file for self employment in 2015…I really hope i get in after all of this :((
We’re 100% receiving an email today right?
I looked online on the admissions website and the news update saying decisions are coming out thursday is gone… what does this mean?
@blahbluh Is right, that’s really weird… I don’t think they would announce one day then retract the next though?
This is turning into a mess lol
If you search December 8th in the search bar they provide, the page declaring it is still there.
The link I sent to my friend yesterday still works, the same page comes up that was there yesterday.
“We will post a new message on our website once we have sent the email instructions for viewing your decision online.” Maybe they are getting ready for this?
It’s just 9:30 am EST. Maybe they’ll send out the emails later in the day?
Midnight for me lol :bz
So has this been the longest week for everyone in their life? I’m 47 years old, if it’s not the longest, it’s ranked up there.
OMG it comes out on Thursday I honestly cannot think about anything else right now. ARGAGHAGHHAGH
Delete post. Pathetic to ask chances now.
Portal is updated and the same message is posted that results are 8th
I am just so excited that I decide to sacrifice my first post here lol!
This is basically the only thread that I post in so I thought since I’ve never done a chance-me post that I hope you guys won’t mind giving me one while we wait for Thursday.
This is as far as I know about my son’s info:
first generation college
sat math 760
sat reading 630
sat2 calculus 710
sat2 physics 670
gpa 3.87 uw
school only offers 2aps for senior and 1 ap for junior
he took chemistry in junior and calculus in senior, I don’t know his scores but his calc seems to be getting 90’s to 95’s on his exams so far.
I know Cornell considers region of applicant probably due to they want people to be able to handle the snowy cold weather and keep their graduation/retention rate high. We are just south by about 150 miles in New Jersey.
Cornell is his only preference. He has no idea what other school to apply to so his desire is 100%
We are hispanic white if that matters.
Family income less than 100k
2 younger siblings will attend college in 2 and 4 years from now.
planning to stay on-campus
Preferred Computer Engineering, Math as a minor maybe or electrical engineering, not sure.
I don’t know much of anything else but please ask because I may have forgotten something.
I know it doesn’t matter much but National Honors society is a highly revered thing at his school as he is noted for his character and kind disposition/generous/helpful/sacrificial.
he’s been chosen by his school to represent them for the annual math contest, I don’t know if it’s a regional thing or how prestigious that competition is.
I removed my post about chances since no one on this board has a clue how competitive it is this year to get in. Also no one is an admissions person. It is out of our hands. Good luck to him!
That’s true but we all try to encourage each other by noting strengths or weakness. No one ever expects a definitive answer, it’s more of a conversational chat piece if you will.
Does anyone know if living in the south will
possibly increase chances of getting in?
@jvan77 I hope so lol
