Which are the more competive majors in CALS , when applying for junior transfer ?
for ILR applicants, is it a big deal if I didn’t take all the recommended courses?
@Mastodon97 Hi, I was wondering when you submitted in your materials as well. I submitted in mine roughly a month ago (around the end of february), and still do not see any checked marks for transcripts and my college report on the self-service portal.
I’m a humec transfer option applicant as well, looking to transfer possibly this fall 2017
Did everyone applying to CALS complete all the required courses for their intended major?
Chance me please:
CALS - Intended major: Development Sociology
I currently attend a school that has an articulation agreement with the Cornell CALS . I have a 3.5 cumulative GPA , and I completed all the required courses for the development sociology major with A’S AND B’s.( Also did good in two of the recommend courses). I am in the honors program at my school. I have done research with an internship program over the summer about health inequality . I write for the the town news paper , and I am a tutor at my school for calculus 1 , bio and sociology . Im in the the biological honors society at school and have a real dedication to social issues.
Possible Hook ( may not matter ) : Black male , first generation , disadvantaged
@happyhellos I got access to my portal on the 17th and I turned in some of my materials a couples days before and others a few weeks before. If you sent them in I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Fyi, They only update that database mon-fri.
Does anyone know the acceptance rate to the aap program for transfers? I can’t find any recent acceptance rates. Thanks!
@TransferKid14 Uhh, well it depends on how many you have left. It says on the transfer guide that you can finish it over the summer.
@jpug13 http://irp.dpb.cornell.edu/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Profile2016-Fall-Transfers.pdf check this out!
Check these out too:

AAP probably only accepts 10% of its applicants.
Does anyone know the acceptance rate for CALS biometry and statistics and when we should be expecting our results from cornell?
Would anyone be able to give me a proper indication of the chance of getting in as an international sophomore to the indented mathematics major?
I am a Dutch student currently enrolled in an intensive double bachelor program in physics and mathematics at a Dutch university. The total amount of people doing this is 17 out of 250 students who do mathematics or physics. My current rank is 3 within this group of 17 and the upper 5% within the total group of mathematics and physics students. I have been able to obtain recommendations from one of currently most innovative physicists in the Netherlands and also from two other professors (one in mathematics and one in astronomy, who also is a director of an important Dutch institute). My current GPA is 4.00/4.00 for the double bachelor program.
I graduated with high school with the highest honor possible (summa cum laude), as my overall mark was 9.0/10.0 I had a 10.0/10.0 for both physics and mathematics and also a 10.0/10.0 for my final essay on quantum mechanics.
My greatest hobby outside of physics is producing dance music, I started doing this at the age of 10 already. Since that age, I played in quite many countries, including Russia, Scotland, France and some more.
Thanks in advance!

KEEP UPDATING ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
@genieforuboi What were yours on?
@Helios01 you have a great shot. Your nationality might work in you advantage. Your recommendations and academics seem on point.
The only possible disadvantage I can think of right now is Cornell University’s need-aware admissions policy. I assume you have asked yourself beforehand if finance will be an issue for you. Are you able to put down at least 2 years worth of board, room, and tuition? (probably more because I heard that international credits do not necessarily transfer that easy). Also, based on many articles and experiences I read on Cornell, the school isn’t too generous with aid and there are a lot of hidden fees compared to other private institutions. Depending whether or not you applied for aid and the amount will influence their decision, since need-based financial aid for international students is competitive and limited. Sometimes, there’s no aid available at all - for this semester, Cornell’s website states: ‘‘Important note: There is no financial aid available for Spring 2017 international transfer admits.’’
Did you apply to any other places which have more resources for international students?
I wish you best of luck, keep us updated.
Did other ILR applicants send their SATs or ACTs? I sent mine even though it is not that good.
@ILR2020 I did not, I don’t think most junior applicants did, but I don’t think that they care about test scores too much anyways.
