Cornell Fall 2017 Transfer

@yassgirl I know that Brown specifically states that without scores you don’t have a good chance on their website. However, I am basing it off of that and the fact that will the level of competition its already had to get in. If you are lacking scores they are going to assume that either you never took it or you did poorly. That isn’t gonna help you.

@panda100 I sent my HS and college transcripts in like January and they didn’t check them off until like last week :confused:

@Wikour I would email them and let them know you are sending it, but you should be good. Send as soon as possible

Don’t worry. I finished my high school in China as well, and my HS trans was firstly checked off. However, my college trans from Virginia Tech is the last thing which isn’t checked off. Sooooo weird

@Panda100

Thanks! @VaishS

@VaishS It’s important to note that Cornell is not Brown. Some schools within Cornell do not require scores for transfers and explicitly state that they do not want them. Nonetheless, they leave the submission option open.

@ILRie18 That is interesting, I was not familar with that! I just assumed that schools would not want to give up a standardized method they could use to evaluate and compare applicants. Thanks :slight_smile:

@VaishS For example, ILR explicitly states that they don’t need SAT scores, a predictor of college performance, if an actual college GPA exists. The predictor serves no purpose if that it is trying to predict is already concrete.

Hello everyone! I’m freaking out because everyone on this thread is saying they have a checklist and whatnot whereas my portal shows nothing! Mine says they have not received a fee waiver, and they won’t take my calls! I’ve submitted all the required materials but I can’t see any checklist. Any one else have this problem?

Have you submitted a fee waiver request? If so, I wouldn’t sweat. It’s probably the most annoying thing for them to be missing, because you can’t see anything else you’re allegedly missing, but if they have your Common App, they will contact you if they still need something from you.

It started with everyone missing something and that number is slowly dwindling

@Mickeytransfer Hey, fellow ILR transfer here. I still need my mid-term report to be checked off. I actually contacted admissions today and they said they are still processing materials and to not worry about it :confused: .

@doctork Did you apply as a sophomore or junior transfer?

@VaishS CALS and ILR clearly state that they don’t require SAT scores, the business school and HoE say that is optional. Other schools do require it.

@Panda100 @uhbygv 我还差高中和大学成绩单…

I talked to one of the admission officer in person and she told me that SAT score is not gonna matter a lot for junior standing transfer. I don’t know if she is lying to me or not tho

I am with @ILRie18 , standardised test score like SAT and ACT is an indicator of how well one would perform in college. If you have one or two years of academics that could speak for themselves, I think it wouldn’t affect the chances that much. But like everybody else said, it wouldn’t hurt to send it if you did well.

Hey guys I was reading over my submitted essays and realized I have grammar mistakes-do you think that this is really bad? I am so upset because I thought I checked it so many times-do you think this means they will most likely reject me?. Thanks

@financeguyjames are you applying to AEM?

No HUman Ecology
