any CAS decisions?
@iveeehopeful Hopefully your silence is a positive thing.

oh noooo nooooo @iveeehopeful but for human ecology it is different??? Human ecology usually get in today… will there be any acceptances this week or nuh?
@milkshakezzz Don’t loose hope!!! You’ll get in somewhere great!!
I applied to HumEc and heard back today. I’m really confused by the letter I got:
–
Dear Maeve:
Thank you for your application to Cornell University. We regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission to Cornell. Given our very large and competitive applicant pool, it is not possible to offer admission to all candidates who would benefit from a Cornell education.
Within the next few days you will receive notification from the undergraduate college to which you’ve applied that you are being offered a transfer option. Please contact the college directly if you have any questions.
We wish you the best as you consider your collegiate options.
Sincerely,
Shawn L. Felton
Director of Undergraduate Admissions
Cornell University

So, it said they’re unable to offer me admission, but then later says I’ll receive a notification that I’m being offered a transfer option? I’m so confused. If anyone could offer some clarity that would be much appreciated! I’m almost more stressed now than I was before
has anyone received an engineering decision yet?
@ruby21 maybe a GT option? not sure.
@ruby21
Did you apply for sophomore or junior year?
@jq3322 oh, that’s true. I forgot GT was a thing - hopefully. I just wish they weren’t so vague! and @HopefulCollege95 I applied as an incoming Sophomore!
@ruby21 wow that is an annoying email!!! ya maybe theyll offer u an option for GT at later date or something…when did u recieve an email from them about accessing ur decision?
@ruby21 if i were you I would definitely call. Haha what an unnecessarily confusing letter.
@ruby21
Yeah it seems like they are giving you are Guaranteed Transfer Option.
Can anyone access their pin now?
Hey guys I found this link on Cornell’s Facebook. Can anyone tell me what it is? It says its a social network for transfer students. I tried signing up but it said my membership is “pending approval” from an administrator; I quickly withdrew my application because I was afraid an admissions officer would see that I tried signing up or something like that. buff.ly/2hX6zRt
@VaishS Thanks man! I appreciate it. I mean, I can’t complain because wesleyan is a great school but in terms of medically inclined research labs they are devoid of my interests. Research is my main extracurricular and I have this project drafted on characterizing novel factors in flavivirus host membrane fusion. So many emerging flaviviruses from ticks and not enough research being done! Been doing botany ( a gene to metabolite study of phenolic metabolism and defense inducible secondary plant metabolites, which are medically important). I wish i had more space on my essays to go in depth about my research, but I had a lot of explaining to do. Really hope I can get into a top research University and I appreciate your encouragement.
What are your interests? Med/Grad school?
I still don’t have a pin
@115transfer How far did you get? I’m able to put in my email and create a password, and now it’s asking for stuff like my name, hometown, favorite food, intended major, what I like to do for fun, etc. I’m hesitant to finish it because I don’t know if I’ve been accepted and I can’t access my pin yet.
What email did you use? Did it ask for your Cornell ID or for any other info? I used the same email my app is attached to
@milkshakezzz You seem very passionate and interested and I truely think that takes you further than just a school name or special rescources will take you!!! Stay positive!! ANd I really hope you get in somewhere else
And yes, I am interested in med school and research but also studying economics (want more of a diverse/liberal arts education)
Good luck!!
@lexluther96 Right after you put in your email and password, it prompts you to fill out all the questions you asked. After you fill those out and hit submit, you’re directed to a page that says:
"Your membership to Cornell Transfer is pending approval
Hello, NAME
Your profile details must be approved by the Administrator before you can become a member of Cornell Transfer. You will receive an email once your profile is approved. (Withdraw Request)"
And I clicked “Withdraw Request” as soon as I saw this.
