Cornell Guaranteed Transfer Accepted - Ask me Any Question Related to GT

yea he does....which was why I thought you were him...except he's not a guaranteed transfer though....he got in regular.....anyways cya around

Has anyone, who is a science major, activated their guaranteed transfer and actually transferred to CALS? If so, were you able to secure all of Cornell's classes for your major? Also, what was your major?

around what time did you GTs start getting admissions decisions last year?

Define admissions decisions- when we first found out we were GTs or the following year when we found out if our GTs were accepted?

I'm currently awaiting my financial aid decision. If I am unable to pay for Cornell even after the financial aid offer, would there be any way for me to exchange my acceptance for a guaranteed transfer one or two years down the road? Especially since I'm a prospective med student, it would be less burdensome for my parents if I could save some money during my undergrad studies. Would this be possible?

Doubt it. Plus GT is a bit of a hassle b/c your other college may not offer the classes that Cornell wants. As a result, you will be behind.

yeah when did u guys find out when your GTs were accepted?

does UCLA offer the classes I need for my GT into CALS?
i am in the Life Sciences program [biology] and I have no idea if any of the classes for Life Sciences majors are the same ones for Cornell because they have different names.

so if i get wait listed or rejected from cornell? no way i can do a GT for transfering next semester?

if u're a hs senior and u get rejected for freshman admission and they offer u gt status is the only way to get a gt

I know this is irrelevant, but does anybody rejected from ILR NOT get a GT offer? It just seems like everyone's got one. It says that approx 40-50 are admitted as GTs every year, but approx. how many are offered the option?

what about gts for CALS and CAS?

they have them if that's what you are asking.

binghamtonrocks--No, not everyone gets the GT option, people get denied to ILR. I know it seems like a lot have received the option this year though

next year they will post median grades on transcript. is this for only class 2012 and after or does this go for everyone

So my kid got the GT option for ILR. He has had a great first semester at another school, has made good friends, and is involved in extracurricular activities. He is happy. Cornell was his first choice and he was crushed when he did not get in, but now has adjusted to his new school. Should he still consider transferring? Is a school’s reputation enough of a reason to transfer? Although ILR has a very specific major, he could do a business major at his current school with a similar focus. The school he is attending also has a great collaborative environment and I know Cornell is more cut throat. I am most concerned about a happy kid transferring to a place that he might not wind up liking. I know he is conflicted. Any thoughts on this?
