I know it seems too good to be true. I just want to hear from students who have taken the guaranteed transfer option and are attending class now. How easy was it? Do you know anyone who didnt get in?

Bump, interesting in hearing on the same topic. How did the process go with the mid-term grade spring Freshman year, if your school did not have midterm reports published ? How difficult was it dealing with housing issues
as a transfer student ?

bump
If they’re at Cornell, they’re probably too busy to loiter on CC.
bump, did you notify your school you were transferring out early in the school year or wait until later?
D2’s roommate had guarantee transfer. She loved where she was and never transferred.
I graduated from Cornell in 2014, but I was a GT (matriculated to Cornell in 2011 after my freshman year). I was really apprehensive at first because I wasn’t sure if I still wanted to go to Cornell, I didn’t want to leave my established network, and I didn’t want to start over. My parents gave me a convincing talk right after freshman year ended when I had two weeks decide. Obviously, I chose to transfer, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
I know it seems scary, but Cornell has a lot of GTs and puts most of them on West Campus. Basically, it’s like freshman year part 2, but this time you know what like college is like so it’s more adaptable. Most of my friends and best friends are transfers (though I did meet a lot of and became friends with non-transfers) and it’s rather unanimous that a. it was a great decision and b. it was a lot of fun/easy to transfer actually.
Cornell was a lot harder than my previous college, and I’ve never worked so hard in my life, but it has paid off countless times. If you’re a GT, I would seriously consider this amazing opportunity.
