Hi, I want to apply to Cornell CAS for Asian Studies. The requirement for CAS is 3 units of the same foreign language, but I only have 2. My school started me on Spanish in 10th grade. In 12th grade I switched schools to take all AP classes and I currently am not taking Spanish because to take AP Spanish you need 3 years or experience. Will my major make up for this? This is actually what I want to study. Should I just apply to CALS and then switch? If I get completely negative comments saying not to even apply I will ignore them. I have 2 more science credits than necessary and 4 more in math.

I would contact the CAS admissions office and explain your exact circumstances. They’ll let you know how to proceed.
