Cornell ILR transfer chances for Fall'08

I just finished my first year at NYU, majoring in economics, and I will be applying to Cornell ILR next year as I have decided it is what I want to study. I believe it is the perfect program for me, so I was wondering if you guys could tell me whether or not I have a shot - be brutally honest!!!

Current school: New York University
Transferring to: Cornell ILR
Primary reason for transfer: I want to study ILR, which NYU does not offer.

Stats:

College GPA: 3.65 (hopefully a 3.7+ by end of next semester)

SAT's: 1910 <--- OUCH OUCH OUCH

EC's: NYPD Auxiliary Police Officer, Investment Analysis Group, Economics Club, NYU Student Council

This summer, I'm doing an internship with the Monitor Group, a top 5 management consulting firm.

I'm planning to make make my essays really strong about why ILR is a perfect fit for me and why I'm interested in it, because it is truly what I would like to study.

Any advice/comments would be greatly appreciated.

I definitely think you have a shot. You might have read or heard it several times, but what the heck... retake that SAT or try the ACT (it can only help your application), get good recs, and write good "why do you want to transfer" and "why cornell" essays. Also, if ILR has pre-reqs, make sure you have taken them. Then, I think you'd be a competitive candidate.

Thanks for the response...anyone else?

Make sure you're a good fit for ILR. If you convince them of that, given the ~50% transfer rate and your decent stats, you're in.
