Does anybody know if the majors that require portfolios/supplemental materials take longer for decisions to come out?
Also, is it just me or did you guys have to make a new password each time you logged into CUWebLogin to view your financial aid checklist? I can never use the same password for my ApplicantID for some reason.
@imsuperanxious thank you so much! yessss today everything disappeared I was so scared that this meant I wasnt going to get in. Could you possibly help me locate the financial aid package? I’m not sure where to find it
no confetti, the paragraph Just starts with
dear (name),
Congratulations
And I was a TO lucky jade, I just stayed in contact with the school throughout the year confirming that I was on the right track and met each requirement(they aren’t particularly difficult)
Definitely worth starting your freshman year at another school, and if you don’t like it or Cornell is your absolute dream, then you will be able to transfer.
Congrats to everyone accepted and condolences to everyone who was not. Were any TOs who met the requirements not accepted? I received the TO this year for CHE!
Isn’t the TO guaranteed for students that fulfill the GPA requirements and class requirements? If so what’s the point of posting your decisions here as it confuses the non-TO’s getting in because some admitted don’t mention initially that they’re TO?
That’s where Cornell transfer stats and info get complicated, my friend. The relatively high acceptance rate Cornell has for transfers is all because of TO’s (admission’s words, not mine) and non-TO acceptance is apparently fairly comparable to colleges like Columbia. It’s impossible to find official information for non-TO transfers, and I would say the differences of the two applicant pools are as big enough to warrant a separate thread.
That being said though, I think TO’s also do the same things (asking admission questions, going to similar institutions, etc etc) so in my opinion as long as they indicate whether they’re TO (which is very close to a guarantee) or not TO, it helps all of us.
Just out of curiosity…does anyone know if the acceptance rate among different colleges are drastically different? I heard somebody say that ILR has the highest rate of getting in

Congrats on all your amazing achievements. This might be a great time to apply to ILR
Need some advice, my son will be attending St.John’s in the fall and then transferring to Cornell for Fall 2021, he received a transfer option. He needs to take Econ–both micro and macro, is it easy for freshman to have a choice in the courses or does St. J. strictly assign? Any professors for philosophy that you would recommend. ?
Cuban heritage here as well. Thank you so much for the advice.
My son was in the same boat as your son last year. He received the TO. He decided to go to Hofstra because he knew he could choose the classes he needed to take. He called around and asked different colleges if he could take micro and macroeconomics, and some colleges said yes and some said it depended if there was enough room. I would call St. Johns and make sure he could take those courses. Sometimes there is a prereq for some schools before you can take the courses.
My son officially got in yesterday, and he paid the deposit this morning.
