This is really frustrating. I need to hear something, be it acceptance or rejection…Just something???
Seems like everyone applying to CALS on this thread has been accepted…does that mean later waves for CALS will primarily be rejections? (crying internally)
@yjliu none of us know how Cornell is doing these decisions. remember that everyone who applied isn’t on this thread. in fact, its likely a small fraction of the total applicants. there’s no reason to think you’ll get rejected until you get your decision. keep your head up!
Accepted!!!
CALS Info Sci non TO
@amc2020 Thanks for the kind words! I guess I’m just frustrated with the long wait. Wish everyone good luck and hope we can see each other this fall at Cornell
@angeldiaz
@lhammonx
Sorry, should have been more specific. Applied via the RUE program, for which they released acceptance/rejection today.
@ khan2020 Yes, my checklist disappeared this morning, probably around 10. My financial aid checklist also disappeared. Then I saw some people post on here that they had received a decision, so I checked, and there it was. I received an email an hour or two later with the acceptance info and instructions on what to do next.
@yjliu I agree. I think they’re filling seats pretty quickly, following weeks will probably be mostly rejections. Literally everyone I’ve talked to/seen has been accepted. I hope I’m wrong but numerically it just adds up.
@yjliu I’m frustrated too. I do wish they didn’t make us wait this long. I hope you hear good news soon!
@Transferboi84 ah I see. I’m sorry to hear that but congrats on cornell!!!
IMO I think that the remaining waves will be primarily rejections/waitlist, it doesn’t make sense from Cornell’s perspective to wait to notify people that they’re gonna accept because then they run the risk of people already committing elsewhere/ not being able to attend now for some reason. I have not heard back yet and at this point, I am pretty much expecting a rejection. I felt like I put together a strong app and it sucks that I’m having to wait this long to even get a decision, but what can you do.
I just want to put some positive vibes out there and say that just because you haven’t heard back it doesn’t mean you won’t be accepted! Remember everyone, only the Cornell admissions know how they are releasing decisions. There is always hope!
Also, they definitely have not reviewed all of the apps yet
Did you apply for sophomore or junior status?
I agree, @MattTransfer2020 . The later is gets into May, the lower your chances are of gaining acceptance numerically if you look at past threads. Especially with CALS since they’re accepting rounds of applicants (not anecdotal accepting).
This year isn’t the same as other years due to the application extension. People still have a good chance at least for a few more weeks.
@MattTransfer2020 Maybe I’m just being hopeful, but I don’t think that’s necessarily true. It may just take longer to send out decisions this year because of the extended deadline and everything going on. Otherwise, why would they wait to inform us of a rejection/waitlist?
Hang in there, I believe in you!
That just gave me some hope lol
Hi everyone,
I am new to this thread.
First of all congratulations to everyone who got accepted.
I am still waiting for my decisions. I checked my application checklist portal and there was an option of “waitlist correspondence” in the supplementary document upload section. Does this mean anything?
Do you guys also have that option in there?
@dearapril Perhaps, though if the cause of the delay is due to the deadline extension it doesn’t really make sense that there are people who applied in February that have not received their decision. Who knows though my guess is as good as yours, just my thoughts
