Cornell vs Dartmouth vs Georgetown vs Rutgers

Which is better for someone looking towards med school?
I heard Cornell is too cutthroat for premed students
Don't know much about Dartmouth except that their percentage is higher than average (don't even know by how much)
Georgetown has really good resources and opportunities for internship
Rutgers is easier to maintain a higher gpa with some research opportunities

any comments? advice? feedback? generous bestowals of wisedom?

Go to the school that is the best fit for you. "Fit" includes school culture, the campus, and the cost of attending.

I honestly would say Dartmouth. The undergrad focus is phenomenal and it really gives you a leg up because you'll have great recs from professors, probably will have done real research (lots of undergrad grants), and the Nathaniel Smith society does a tremendous job as a pre-med advising system. Also, its less cutthroat than Cornell. That plus it has a great social life.

How easy would it be to find pre-med volunteering at Dartmouth? I have a friend whose younger sister goes there, and the school apparently is in the middle of nowhere.

Shades, Dartmouth has its own med school and plenty of opportunity - see this thread:

Assuming that you fit in at all four schools and cost is similiar, then it probably narrows down to Dartmouth College & Cornell University.

ohmadre:

Thanks for the correction. I completely blanked on Dartmouth's med school.
