Cornell Vs. Hopkins Vs. UVa

Which one would you wanna go to!?

What are you planning to major in?

(I personally would go to Cornell...)

im kinda Undecided..........leaning towards the Sciences: engineering/pre-med.

Which school did you get in for those? all engineering schools?

College of Arts and Sciences.....but i can always switch right?

Cornell is huge and impersonal and Ithaca is a hick town.

Johns Hopkins only has excellent schools of Arts & Sciences and Engineering on its beautiful country club like Homewood campus- which is still urban yet friendly.

UVA is a large state school with mostly Virginia residents. You're not going to receive as much special attention there that you'd get at Hopkins.

Academically, Cornell & Johns Hopkins are both great for Engineering, science and the humanities. Base your decision on other factors. Good luck! I'm going to Hopkins in Sept!

I would personally choose Cornell over the other two.

hopkins is urban enough to have MURDERS!! booo!

(i'm vietnamese btw...whew, good thing eh that i don't go there)

the beautiful country club like homewood campus in the middle of the ghetto...

If barry thinks cornell is huge, he's right, and impersonal, no you have your college, within that your major, and also your dorm, floor, hall, suite, and roommate maybe. It all depends on the level you look @ things. Upper level classes can have less than 5 students.

Oh yeah and ithaca is a hick town, NOT. ithaca is a COLLEGE town. It has two colleges and one grad school around it, and it caters solely to those institutions. It has a pedestrian shopping mall that doesnt sound very hick.

yea im done with UVa.......
its between JHU and Cornell!

to make a comment about as uneducated as Barry's:

DONT GO TO HOPKINS...you'll get MURDERED!!! thats on the same level as calling ithaca a hick town just because its not a big city...

As the above (unbiased) posters have suggested, you can go to JHU or you can go to Cornell and stay alive. Your choice.

Quick question: Do you play lacrosse? Just wondering, because Cornell, JHU, and Virginia are all big lacrosse schools.

Anywho, JHU is the best program in the country for pre-med (as I'm sure you know already). It is also great for medical-related engineering. As for overall engineering, Cornell and Hopkins are very close. You won't get murdered if you go to JHU, the campus is nice and safe. However, I've heard that you will work yourself to death if you go there. Granted, it's Cornell engineering may be no better when it comes to workload. I don't think Baltimore's a great city to go to college in (not like Boston or Chicago), but it's all a matter of preference. (The crab cakes are good, though.)

So pick whichever, I'm sure you'll be happy there.
