Well, Cornell sent me an APP so i decided to fill it out and give it a shot!

AMERICAN income is 23000 since my dad works in korea so iono if this will help

chances please : ) im doing ECONOMICS major

hate to say this, your GPA is quite low for Cornell. On a ligher note, you've a competitive SAT score and that hook is impressive. Several of my bro's friend got in Cornell with lower stats. So you have a shot. Whats your class rank?

not sure 1000 kids in our 12th grade alone so we dont rank. Im hoping economics is more or less a "non popular" major at Cornell..any other opionoins?

bump!!!!!!

alright last try lol

as a fellow arcadian =/ unweighted gpa and sat too low cornell doesn;t look at writing score

if you can;t get into nu ed then getting into cornell would be a reach >< but still apply for it just make sure you have some safeties gl!

hahah thanks. I knew that was the reality of it. I think im more in range for schools like UCLA and U MICH

Given what has happened to Arcadia in previous years I think you may be bashed.

kman i'm confused what do you mean? what has happened in arcadia?
--wow...so many people in arcadia uses this forum LOL

...why will i be bashed ? Arcadia High is a great competitive school...

Flong, your SAT is not too low for Cornell. You have a 1420/1600, which is right in Cornell's range. I know people w/1300s who have gotten in. My firend got in last year with a 1350.

What hurts you is your GPA. A 3.4 unweighted is a bit low for Cornell. If you get rejected, it will be because of your GPA.

oh i know. But myweihgte d GPA 9-11 is significantly better since i will be getting quite a few honors/ap points even from Freshman year. I'm just hoping I can get past the GPA/SAT where my EXC and Essays and Recs will be the teremining factor.

rd for cornell is significantly harder i think hepstar's person who had 1350 most likely got in through ed
anyhow...i'm still kind of worried what kman meant...i know our school has a bad reputation for some ed colleges...in that some of our students don't really care much for contracts...

The 1350 was RD by the way. He applied to Duke ED and got rejected. I think his major was how he was able to get in. I'm not sure what it was, but I know it isn't one of the more popular ones, therefore making it easier to get in.

hahah i did ECON. iono..my GPA ****s up everything! 1420..3.4...but its a 4.1 weighted so who knows. damn i was hoping my microsoft internship would help but oh well !

I remember seeing a scatterchart of Arcadia that saw most people getting rejected from all the top colleges, bar those with near perfect GPAs. The situation may have since changed since that chart ended with c/o 2005.

? kman i'm confused most people in our school w/ high gpa and sats do get into top schools >< and what chart are you talking about? a scatterplot still exists for 2006

You may want to check that that Cornell application is from Cornell UNIVERSITY and not Cornell COLLEGE. I don't think Cornell UNIVERSITY sends out applications like that (not too sure) but I am sure that stupid Cornell COLLEGE does.
