So, my D applied to more than 10 schools so we had to submit the FAFSA to them in batches. I have not yet done my taxes, am still waiting for one w-2, so the numbers are my best guess.
After I do my taxes and use the IRS data retrieval tool, will the correct numbers go to ALL of the schools, even the ones I had to erase to input the second batch? Or do I have to enter the first ones all over again?
This whole thing is so badly designed. Why can’t they just give you 30 spots or whatever would be way too much?
If you did one FAFSA and didn’t make any changes … then you updated that FAFSA’s schools … and you didn’t make any other changes … those are transactions 1 and 2. When you log into your FAFSA, you can choose your transaction. Choose transaction 1, then do the tax update; sign with both student and parent PINs, then submit. You can then go back and choose transaction 2, do the tax update, sign with both PINs, and submit. You should wait until the updates to transaction 1 (which will result in transaction 3) are done processing before you can update transaction 2 (which will result in transaction 4).
