Correlation between which classes you better and worse on.

When I was in Algebra I SUCKED, and I'm pretty good in geometry...I was talking to a teacher and she brought up on how there is a correlation between people doing better in Algebra and worse in Geometry and Visa versa. I was wondering have any of you experienced the same?
she told me it has to do with people's left or right brained sort of thing...people who are both are good at both.
I have, I get Geometry so much more then Algebra.
It could be my teacher but I don't know...

I was thinking it could be total BS, but I don't know...
Have you seem a pattern between any other classes?
Opinions?

edit: oops I messed up the title...I iz gud @ ingish! I swarezzz!!

umm i did well in both.. what i really suck at would be english

I do well at both, but on tests my algebra grades are okay, while my geometry grades are really high. I just remember the rules for geometry better and get a bit more confused in algebra.

never took geometry

I got an A in both geometry and Algebra...

somehow I got an A in algebra II, not sure how...

But I still loathe math, even if I'm already through calc in my sophmore year. <.<

god I got an 88 on first semester in math, I had a low A and then BAM it shoots down... its fixing to happen again but it really got me cause cause I looked away for half a second my GPA is stained D:<....ahhh I feel so bad...

I failed the pre-req test in pre-calc, along with the second test too.

And I still pulled out a B!

For me, I definitely see a correlation. I bounced from a 36% on my first unit test in Alg I to an A+ at the end of the year, and then I received an A in my Honors Algebra II class with the hardest and most whimsical teacher ever >_>; But then I ended up with a flat C in my 9th grade Geometry class (even though I was a 10th grader, scheduling difficulties) - where we weren't even required to use Algebra II. Ick. My GeoH teacher was amazing though, and he really pushed me to understand all of the flaws in my math thinking, so I never felt miserable when I received that C. I did headdesk when I recieved an A in my AP Biology class, but that came to me more easily than Geometry did. That A was not inflated XD

It might've come down to receiving my first infliction of chickenpox in sophomore year, which kicked me out of school for 2 weeks, but in the end, I believe that I'm just really not cut out for Geometry, Honors at least. Doing good in my regular Geometry class though :D

The first time I took both courses I did really well in Algebra and really badly in Geometry. I think it was because with Algebra I didn't really understand what I was doing and I didn't really know how to think, just manipulate symbols. But I was really good at manipulating symbols. And obviously that came back to bite me in the butt when I did Geometry and actually had to think and such.

Lucky I got to retake both classes later.

I thought Algebra (1 and 2) was easier than Geometry. Oddly enough, I think Precalc is easier than Geometry, even with the trig.

I like Algebra/Precalc better than Geometry though. Shapes don't fascinate me too much.

This was way back in middle school, so I believe I was a completely different person back then, but i did significantly better in Geometry than I did in Algebra I. Tests have proved that I am equally left and right brained, but the math correlation does not. Interesting. Algebra II is a completely different story though. I'd say it was my most successful level of math. That skews everything now.

^
Ima scarruuud from algebra 2.

I didn't do so hot in Algebra one, although my teachers gave me a 89 and a 90... but I need to get the highest GPA and class rank possible (class rank is your average mark...so you can have a 3.7 and still be in the top 2%, if you have all 100s and 2 '89's and what not...one friend of mine was number 8 with a 3.7 actually...

-
Omg same here.. I got a 23 in the Algebra Final. ;| Ended up w/ a 71... I always got so many points taken off for silly things, such as proper math notation or writing x and y on the graph's axis's.

Luckily my school doesn't count courses taken in middle school. Then, next year I end up with a 98 in geometry and now i have a 99 in algebra 2. Weird.. =</p>
