Why would it come out on the 30th if they’re saying it will be on May 1???

If it comes out early, that’s when it’ll come out. In the past years, it came out way earlier than that. Well atleast for UCSD

I’ve been a shivering ball of nervousness about cosmos ever since I got rejected from SCU SES, haha. I really want to do something this summer, but… sob. ;____; If I don’t get in, I’ll be taking physics at the community college, though, which I can’t do if I get into cosmos since it overlaps too much D: Which could also be a problem, since i’m planning on taking AP Physics next year… but who am I kidding LOL I don’t think my chances are very high since I lack extracurriculars and a good GPA, but oh well.

Has anyone heard yet or called the office? Will we find out at midnight on Monday night???

@Mikaa, several places on CC people say Cosmos is not that prestigious. May be your chances are not that bad? Which cluster did u apply to.

Is it just me, or do you guys also get bothered by people who judge these kind of summer programs just by “prestige”? Like, I could have applied for a philosophy class at Harvard (which is supposedly prestigious), but there’s really no point because I’m never going to major in Philo in college. The whole point of these programs is to learn- which I think people forget sometime.

I mean, I don’t care if COSMOS is super prestigious or not. I want to go there for both the great academic experiences and friendships you can make there.

LOL sorry if this sounded kind of rant-like. It’s just my opinion. :D

@missiris, wake up and smell the coffee. The more prestigious a program, the harder it is to get in. I’m sure that when you attend Cal State Fullerton for your college of choice, you’ll have a great academic experience. These programs are not free. Our parents work hard to send us there. They better be prestigious for their cost. Younshiuld take philosophy at Harvard. May be it will teach you how to think.

@missiris Swimmergirl16 was gauging Mikaa’s chance of getting in, in an almost comforting way, not trying to make COSMOS illegitimate by saying it isn’t as prestigious, which I may have to disagree with. I don’t think it’s very prestigious in terms of academic achievement, but rather in terms of actual interest in science. Of course, they can be relatively less prestigious in terms of that, too, but nobody can really know unless admission officers from each program come and compare. :U Also, philosophy is an interesting subject and you should take the class if you’re interested in it, even if you’re not going to major in it in college… Interest doesn’t always mean it’ll translate into a career.

also @swimmergirl16 that was rude :|

@swimmergirl16 I know- Telluride is way way way harder to get into than COSMOS. And of course, you don’t want to have your parents pay thousands of dollars for a not-so-good program. What I was trying to get across is that I’m just slightly annoyed that people only want to attend these programs for the “prestige” or for their “college resume” without having any intention to learn whatsoever.

Also, I’m kind of confused about the CSUF statement. Are you implying that I’m going to go there? I never really said I wanted to LOL. Not that there’s anything wrong with CSUF, the president there is AMAZING and the campus has just been beautifully renovated.

Want to join me at Harvard to learn how to think? :] Just kidding. Your reply was kind of harsh but it’s cool LOL.

Cal State Fullerton’s not even a bad school…

Only a few more days :)

I wish they sent out admissions already…
It’s preventing me from studying for APs :U

I applied for video game design and cryptology at UCSC, haha. /continues flailing about…
…I should probably be studying for APs too but oh well |D

I think this question was asked on the old thread but I guess I’ll ask it again since people seem to be on this topic…

With the AP exams less than 2 weeks away… what exams are you guys taking this year?

To start off I guess… I will be taking European History and Lang&Comp.

Im taking bio, language, Spanish language, and calc AB! I’m so nervous! I really should probably start studying…but the weather has been so nice I’d rather be outside than inside with my three inch Princeton review books gah! Good luck to all.

AP world history and psych. I’m self studying psychology though, getting pooped on. I started studying 14 days before the exam. T__T

AP comparative politics and AP psych.
I’m most worried about the FRQs though. My teachers haven’t been really helpful in that department. Any tips?

hey should i wait up on Monday night to get the email or wait until Tuesday afternoon?

I highly doubt that they’re releasing results at midnight. I think the admissions staff have better things to do than stay up that long for a group of eager high school students. XD They’ll probably send the emails at 10 AM or something… they’ll wait until a convenient time for them.

Yes, our nervousness is nothing to them LOL. Maybe they won’t release them until Tuesday, midnight. :P
