Could I get in NEU (and maybe University Scholars Program)? Chance me and I'D APPRECIATE IT FOREVER!

I applied EA for Chemical Engineering. Here are my stats:

International Student: Vietnamese. Bilingual, learning French as my third language. I am currently doing the IB Diploma, and here's my predicted: (has taken none of these tests)

Math HL: 6
Physics HL: 7
Chem HL: 7
Eng Lit SL: 6
Geo SL: 7
French ab initio: 7
Extra points: 3/3

Making my prediction 43/45.

TOEFL: 109

Told my counselor for NEU that I got 740 for SAT II Chem and 800 on Math II, but don't know nor think it would count...

EC:

Robotics: Founder/Programming Leader of the first FTC team in school and 2nd in the UK.

Piano: Passed ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory with Distinction, Passed ABRSM Grade 7 Piano Practical Exam with Merit.

Bass: Section Leader in school's orchestra, joined Atlanta Junior Chamber Orchestra and Dekalb Youth Symphony after half a year of learning the instrument. Also got in State Honors Orchestra (grade 9 -10)

Sport: Taekwondo (grade 11-12): Currently am a green belt, won silver medal for pattern and bronze medal for sparring in LTSI English Open
Volunteering: Volunteer in gardening in Garden's Museum doing gardening work on public parks.

Other achievement: Finalist for Georgia Governor's Honor Program, received silver medal for UKMT Mathematical Challenge (UK)

My counselor is responsible for my Robotics club thus knows me really well. My recommendations from other teachers were described as "cannot be better". One of those also comes from a Senior Moderator for the IB Chemistry and my Extended Essay supervisor, so he should know me very well. Also did my Extended Essay on Biodiesels for Chem.

I was studying in the US grade 9-10 and moved to UK grade 11-12 and still kept my grade up, so it shows consistency?

The wait is killing me and I am really desperate to know my chances...

Thank you!!!

@nanotechnology‌ I know you are the guru for NEU… Could you be so kind as to chance me and help me escape this freak out state which my parents are starting to hate me for? Please??? Thank you so so much!!! ^:)^

You look like a really strong candidate. (I did IB as well, so I also have a soft spot for that, too!) I don’t see any reason why you wouldn’t be accepted. You also have some nice ECs that make you stand out as committed and as being a leader - particularly the robotics. That’s the kind of thing University Scholars is looking for. You’ve given yourself the best possible shot at this, and there’s nothing else you can do now! So just take a deep breath and try to relax. (Yeah, I know it’s not that easy.) Distract yourself! Study for something! Program something for fun!

@nanotechnology‌ could you chance me to? ahahah…i am not sure how to feel about my chances and i just want to have a realistic idea of the ground i am standing on.

@nanotechnology‌ Thank you so much!!! You make me feel better now!!! Yeah I’ll try to relax a bit, especially since Im in Netherlands for my Robotics Club… We’ll pull through this :)

@blackcoder1604‌ I imagine that @nanotechnology‌ agrees with me that chancing, especially for competitive programs, is very difficult/inaccurate. You have good scores and good extra-curriculars, but it’s hard to predict how admissions will view you because you are competing against people who often have similar stats. I’ll second her in saying that the best thing to do is to try to relax and enjoy yourself.

Yup. There’s nothing you can do at this point, so try to just relax and focus on other things until the results come in.
