Manayy, is that Austin Reagan? I had a couple of cousins who went there back in the dark ages.

Good luck to you. Work hard and you’ll do well, whichever school you attend. Once you get your first job, nobody cares where you went to college.

like i always say experience picks up where rankings lack.

Manay your only other options are private schools if you want a good city.

no san antonio reagan

…i might resort to baylor

Manayy

The MPA is a masters in public accounting. It is one year long, sort of. It starts in summer and ends the next summer. It can be combined with any undergraduate major, accounting or not. You can still do St. Edwards and this program. You can read more about it here.

[Master in Professional Accounting (MPA), Department of Accounting, McCombs School of Business, The University of Texas at Austin](Traditional MPA | Texas McCombs MPA | McCombs School of Business)

what’s the difference between “public” accounting and…accounting i general.

I’m sorry. It’s not public. It is a masters in professional accounting. Brain cramp and I typed it wrong. Sorry for the confusion.

thank you so much for this!!! i think i will be staying in Austin then!!!
thanks!!!

i’ll do more research later on this. thanks again! so excited.

without a CPA you wont do much public accounting

doesn’t CPA come after the MPA program?

The MPA program gives you the necessary hours and classes you need to take the CPA. Graduating from an MPA program does not confer you upon you the CPA certification. You still need to pass the test.

480 students from your high school class went to A&M? That’s a very large number, that I don’t really believe. But I get what you mean, you don’t want to see people you know all the time.

St.Edwards undergraduate degree+UT MPA would be the way to go, if you like Austin a lot.

lol it’s because my class had almost 900 students.
they literally split in half to go to A&M and Tech.
and this also happened with classes that graduated b4 me.
when i look at my friends facebook pages, all the parties and gatherings i see is like seeing my graduating class again. such a horror.

don’t Austin is like the best city? :D

Yes, Austin is wonderful! I still miss it after living away for 24 years. If it were just a little cooler in the summer, I would move back in a flash! Maybe eventually I can live there part of the time and Maine the rest.

The debate between Pierre and ag54 was interesting. [off-topic]

haha, I tried not to bite. That’s what immense boredom at work will do.
