Okay well, technically it's one month from tomorrow, but today is pretty much over. I can't believe it's coming so quickly...seem like yesterday that the number of days remaining was in the triple digits! I'm starting to get nervous...with the single-deadline impact and possible enrollment cuts (who knows how much) and it being so close and all.
Hopefully in 31 days, 21 hours, and 37 minutes (give or take a few hours) we will be gators!

Majoring in Economics with minors in Philosophy and Business Administration in preparation for Law School, maybe Levin, looking to specialize in corporate law and the goal is to make partner by 40.

I want to go into Physics...most likely with a double major in Math, or maybe even Statistics. Then I want to get my PhD in Physics from UChicago.

Not really sure after that...besides getting married and having kids, of course. :-) I'll probably end up being a Physics professor, which would be totally awesome.

Vincanity--sweet major! I love economics. I am very sad that our AP Econ class is now AP Government...I wish it was a year-long course.

Well, I just got into New College of Florida, so that is giving me a good vibe for my UF chances. I just hope my lack of AP classes doesn't hurt me. Maybe my 32 ACT and essay can negate that.........

I'm not sure what I want to major in yet, but I'm deciding between two very different ones: Biology and Political Science. If it's Biology, I'm still not sure what branch it will be in either, but that's not a concern for me right now.

Thanks kaitlin, I'm really excited to start. Actually, my school has a 1 year ap macro program that unfortunately conflicted with my schedule for senior year. I figure it doesn't make too much of a difference, considering I'm going to be studying the subject for years

I know someone doing the exact same thing, but at another school. If you care, they recently got accepted to two top 20 law schools, but waiting to hear from the rest.

Please be a nice and understanding professor. All the ones I had sucked.

Pick molecular!! unless you like ecological, animal, or micro more.

International Relations and minor in either Arabic or French.

If you don't mind the difficultly, I would pick Arabic. It makes you more desirable when you apply for internships and to the CIA/FBI (if that interest you).

That's pretty cool ASMAJ, thanks for the info.

I think I'm going to put the most emphasis on philosophy because I've come to have an affinity for the subject.

As for law school, I wouldn't mind going to a top ranked law school considering I somehow get some financial assistance but I also wouldn't have a problem going to Levin, a top 50 law school. The good thing about my situation is the alumni network of my high school, especially in the field of law, is amazing and I know that it will be a breeze to hook a job with most of the firms in Miami.

PS. The only four letters I am scared of: LSAT :(

I want to major in mathematics, but pursue pre-medical studies.. I think I might become a pediatrician, surgeon, or something else.
If I pursue medicine... Doctorate
If I pursue math... Ph.D

"I'm planning to major in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations and minor in either Arabic or French."

I'm a Poli Sci major with a concentration in INR and a minor in Spanish (LOVE it!). If you have questions about UF's poli sci program, message me! =)

I have been wondering what the impact of the new admissions cycle is going to be- whether the profile will be different. Any projections?

According to our school's Naviance statistics, there was a marked difference in early decision vs. regular decision selectivity in past years. Students with weaker SATs tended to apply ED, and they were smart to do so. Many students who applied later, especially RDII, had a higher hurdle to clear:

Average SAT/Weighted GPA
ED acceptances: 1228/4.0
RD acceptances: 1340/4.3

That's a pretty big difference in averages.
I think the elimination of ED will open up spaces for RD applicants with higher stats, thus enhancing selectivity. However, the earlier application deadline might cause a decrease in the overall number of applications, thus decreasing selectivity. Maybe it will just be a wash?
