i hope i get into rice but my chances are slimmm...1] my stats are not as high and 2] i am azn...even if i didnt say i am azn...they would still know...my last name...
oh gosh icymoon...i am so scared..i have to get into rice!! i just have tooo!!!!!

neelesh, dont worry you still have a shot at Rice. I think that I've read somewhere that UNC's admission rate out of state is even lower than Rice.

I'm so sorry to hear that, owlgirl!! :(

I REALLY hope you get into Rice, then, because you only applied to two schools right? You'll be in my prayers. :)

Just don't fret too much about it now.. because you applied RD so you'll have to wait until April anyway, and if you continue to worry for months until then, that won't be too healthy. Rice-Obsessive, that's comforting to know.

lol..why i gotta be azn?? why i gotta be a ghetto azn...well, everything happens for a reason...
anywho, icymoon, i am taking the ACT on feb 12 (last deadline for rice)...i already took the SAT Is and everything but i heard that the ACT is really easy...hope I can do really REALLY good on it for rice...

you know whats funny icymoon? i have this image of a girl in my head....that girl is supposed to be me at rice but that girl has a hat on and she is too far away for me to see her..i wonder if she is me? oh plz let me get into rice..oh lordy!!

thanks for the prayers icymoon :) and yes i only applied to two schools...i can picture myself at rice and i feel i am at home when i walk around the campus cross fingers

" has it dawned on you guys that for most of us the fate has been decided !!!! " - simba.

sticks simba under a soundproof bowl... you can come out of there on feb 10th, simba ; ).

mea: The admission goddess (Julia Browning) has smiled up on you and would like to see you in her 05 Freshman Court.

hahaha : ) woot! I should put more people under bowls, I think.

12 days... probably less even. When does everyone think we will actually find out?

I think we will find out on monday the 7th. Last year, with more applications, they notified online on the 7th.

I assume it just appears on the AdmissionStatus page?

Let us start prediction game. I say Monday, 7th 5:01 p.m. cst.

7th, 4:00 pm, c.s.t.

:D why that guess? no clue! who needs a reason.

ahh the 7th???

I'm not sure, Rice-Obsessive. I'll just be checking it anyway though.

Oh yes, I'll be checking all through next weekend up to the tenth.

Maybe they will notify earlier. Think about it, people...they notified online 3 days early last year with a bigger applicant pool...whichever day they decide to notify on is probably the business day AFTER they finish making decisions, and if they finish on friday the 4th, why would they wait until monday (a whole weekend) to post decisions? Admissions people in general I think like to finish up stuff when they see a light at the end of the tunnel. I can think of two examples of this. This year UVa, who was supposed to notify for ED by Dec 1, notified on nov. 24, which was the day before thanksgiving. Why? Because it would allow them to have that entire break off, without having anything hanging over their heads. Also, Princeton completed and mailed early decisions by dec 10, rather than the previously stated 15th. Why? The 10th was a friday. So, I will honestly start expecting something this friday, and get worried if they don't post anything by monday evening.

Oh wow, this FRIDAY??? :D yay.

I may be being just a little optimistic...but we'll see...

You may be optimistic, but your logic makes sense to me. Anyway, if they mail before they post it online, then I'm going to curse the fact that it'll take two extra days to arrive in California than in Texas. :p

Will it be by e-mail or just an update on the Admissions page?
