mifune, I took an SAT test where -1 was 770 and -2 was 740. I ended up with 740, which was a big pain because I made two really silly mistakes and it cost me 60 (!) points.

10 days 5.5 hours left!

-1 has been a 770?! That’s dreadful. An 800 M seems to honestly takes as much caution as it does intellectual ingenuity.

-1 has been a 760 before too

-1 yields a 760?!! That’s insane!

AGAIN!

people…

I’ve never seen -1=770. Ever (and Ive seen a LOT of tests).

I think it’s just a rumor. -1=760 is even more absurd.

no one has ever proven it… pretty sure that it’s not true.

i concur .

on the nov 2008 SAT, -1 in math was 760, while -2 in math was 740.

just search for the threads. no one got in between.

i personally took the test

Yes, I have taken a test where -1 was 770 and -2 was 740. That was HARSH, but I really hope I don’t suffer from that again. It’s a rare thing for the curve to be so harsh…

I agree, if i get anything above 2000 free round of shots on me ;)

im pretty sure this one is gonna have an easy curve on the math since there was the ambiguous point-to-line question… unless collegeboard can dispel a question altogether, which i doubt.

I’ve done a -1 770 for math, June 2007 International.

I can screenshot my score report if you still don’t believe me.

lol do itttt, Jan 09 test I got 2 wrong and 760, this test missed 1 (666 q) in math so 780+, only if they looked at missing free response differently… -.-, so you guys think this critical reading curve is gonna be nice like, 5 wrong can be at least a 700+?

^^Five incorrect on the CR will likely net a 740, since your raw score will be a 61 (assuming you completed at least 64 questions). You won’t be as low as 700 unless you had eight incorrect or more. The CR composite scoring doesn’t vary by much, so there is no need to fear a harsh, wacky, future-ruining curve.

-1=770 on June 07 international I can believe.

the november 08 -1=760?

don’t believe it. and I can’t find any threads on that either. someone provide a link?

either way, the chances of that happening are absurd. -1=780 or 790 for this test is a safe bet.

All the recent QAS’s have -1 as 780 or higher, which is why 770 or 760 for -1 seems impossible. But it’s happened before.

There’s nothing ambiguous about the definition of distance between a point and a line.

Lets get back to the point of this thread: COUNTDOWN!

10 more days!

–111-------000000000
----1-------0--------0
----1-------0--------0
----1-------0--------0
11111111—000000000

Ughh, 10 days…so many days to go -__-

jamesford, i know that, but many of my friends who took it got confused by the question and called up collegeboard. the collegeboard supposedly says they agree that it was a bit ambiguous and are looking into it more.

hahahaha

oh my god if collegeboard throws that question out…

that’s like throwing out the question

"3+2=5 4+1=5 5+0=5 6-1=5 2+3=5. Given the previous information, 2+2=?

a. 5 b. 4 c. 3 d. 2 e. infinitely many"

I don’t know guys, I think it might be 5.
