Couple of Pitt questions

Hi, I’m an OOS who applied to Dietrich on August 3rd. Many people who have applied later than me have heard back, and I just have a few questions. As for credentials I have a 34 act I’m not necessarily focusing on that because I know that once I submit my application there’s nothing I can do for my chances so I am focusing on when I hear back. I called the admissions office and they told me my application was currently in committee. I know what that means but I don’t know from there how long it takes to hear back. Also I know the admissions committee probably doesn’t meet on weekends but from what I understand, the admissions seem to be released on the same day once a week? I’m not sure if they get released sporadically every day but I just wanted to clarify all this so I have a better understanding of the time frame and when I should hear back. I think it’s worth noting that I applied coalition because one of the staffers told me they were having trouble processing the commonapp ones, but coalition was all good. Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

You will probably be hearing something in the next few weeks. Two years ago my daughter applied like the first week the applications were out. She didn’t hear back until late September. Many people who applied later than her heard back first! They don’t seem to respond to applications in the exact order they are received.

Hang in there!

Thank you! It’s a little bit nerve wracking but good to know that someone else was once in my shoes.
