Course placement

how does the university deal with course placement for math, english, and foreign language? if i already have college credit for x class, would i still have to take a test to place into the next course in the sequence?

haha i accidentally posted this in the engineering forum

There is a math placement test that you may have to take and you would have to take a foreign language placement test if you’ve had prior study in that language. To the best of my knowledge, there is no placement test for English classes, especially if you already have credit for one or more English classes.

With a certain score on AP Calc you can place out and go onto the next level without any testing.
There is an AP testing chart on UA website [University of Alabama Undergraduate Catalog 2008-10](<a href=“Page Not Found | The University of Alabama”>Page Not Found | The University of Alabama) that tells you specifically what score places you out and how many credits you earn.

^what about CC credit?

With cc credit you move to next level. Placement is for those with only hi schl credit.
