Course Schedule

Hi guys, I was wondering what would be better to take.... my schedule for next year will be AP English Lang.
AP US History
Geometry
Chemistry
AVID 11
& the next 3 I need to choose from...
AP Psychology
Leadership
or Spanish 3.

Im torn because I want to take the 3rd AP class so I can boost my GPA, but I also know the Spanish 3 and the Leadership class will look good... please give me any feedback & opinions! thanks!

check the catalog for foreign language. if only 2 years is required in h.s. (i think thats the requirement) and your major doesn’t require college classes in language…then take the AP in Psychology. That will be a GE course you dont have to pay for if you get the right score.

Thanks! & im doing some research on out of state schools like new york, & they require 3 years of a foreign language… So as a back up plan, should I just take the leadership senior year?? & take AP Psych & Spanish 3 instead?

I wouldn’t take Spanish 3 unless you know that you’re going to pass with A’s.

And Leadership on the other hand would look good on a resume, but to be honest colleges would be more impressed if you were a president of a club, or took some initiative in your volunteer work.

Showing leadership is different from learning leadership if you know what I mean.

I’m assuming you’re currently a sophomore. And I greatly would recommend you to take Physics (honors Physics would be preferable) in your senior year. Not many students take Physics during high school, and if you take it and pass with A’s or B’s you would really standout.

But why are you taking Chem you’re junior year?

Leadership is a foo foo class. You can take something else instead. No one is going to say “oooh, he took leadership, thats a great class”.

Take the Spanish III class to get it out of the way. I know some schools (like USC) make you take a lot of foreign language. Then you can know more to try and take a placement test in that language once you get to college.

There is no point in taking physics if your future major doesn’t require it. OP what do you think you want to major in? I am an engineering student so I can tell ya whats up in a lot of mathy courses.

Thanks! I plan on Majoring in Journalism, Communications, or Psychology! Math is my worst subject, English & History are.

@Harmbreezy

If that’s the case then don’t take Physics, if you do you will be screwed.

Have you taken any art classes yet?
