Criteria for getting in to wharton

Hey, I'm hoping to get into Wharton next year and I just wanted to get a feel for how well you need to do on your SAT/SAT 2...i know there is know specified cut off but I want to get a feel...so if you have gotten in to wharton yourself (recentley) or you know someone who has, please list your/their SAT reasoning score (math, critical reading, writing) and their SAT 2 scores (Math Level 2/any other subject test). Thanks!

You have to be a legend.

I know a girl who got in recently. She’s a really nice girl, very involved in the community and her ECs, and has initiated several service projects - she’s the kind of person everyone likes and everyone was happy for her when she got in. I don’t know exact scores, but I heard it was in the upper 2100s/low 2200s with an 800 in math. SAT 2 I don’t know, but I think what really helped her was that she was sincere in her desire to serve the community, and it must have showed through.

Post your stats and subjective elements and I’ll chance you.

I think, as of last summer, you have to be able to climb the turnbuckle and do a Ram Jam off the top rope.

That’s not necessarily true. A girl got in from my cousin’s best friend’s sister’s high school who did not complete the Ram Jam.

Save the economy

Minimum 2200 SAT, 800 math level 2, 750+ rest of sat II’s

Silverturtle,

I’m stunned. Admissions policies are getting so lax.

The kids I see getting into Wharton now have 2250 plus SATs with very high (770 plus) math I and II scores. Also have great ECs, typically something business related in the package.

In sum, this is like an HYP admit, they are outstanding. Helps a lot if you’re not from the E. Coast. The Asian pool is also very, very competitive.

I have got a 2280 (780 writing, 750 reading, 750 math) and for SAT 2’s I got a 800 U.S History and a 770 Math Level 2…what do u guys think about those scores? are they good enough…my concern is that my math scores are not superb enough

Those scores are good enough not to eliminate you from consideration. It then comes down to extracurriculars.

I had a friend who turned down Wharton and Brown for Notre Dame… he is a business major

silverturtle,
Are you saying that a 770(math 2)/750(math1) is neutral in terms of my application…aka it will allow me to be considered but wont actually help me beyond that?

Well, admissions decisions are based upon holistic review.

Basically, your numbers are good. Good enough not to hurt you, but not great enough to give you a big boost. You have to differentiate yourself from the many other applicants with similar scores by showcasing passion and talent in other areas.
