My Common App essay is pretty straightforward, focused on character growth and taking initiative- so I've taken a risk on my supplement essay.

I'm not sure if I'm going to use it yet, but I think it has the potential to be very well-written and is (hopefully) unique. The risky part is that it is pretty introspective and doesn't say a lot about me academically. It's not about some profound or life-altering moment, more like something you would read on Rookiemag.com. I'd really appreciate if an experienced writer would be willing to read it and advise on whether or not it would serve me well at schools like Brown and Columbia. Thanks!

I’d be willing to read it. Most of my applications are already in and my common app essay is already set in stone, so I have a lot of time on my hands.

Disclaimer: I’m also applying to Brown this December. I won’t copy your essay, but I understand if you’re a little skeptical and don’t want to send it to me, so it’s okay if you don’t.

I will if you like. I’m an applicant, not “experienced” as such, but I’m an ace english lit and sociology student so essays are my strong point. Also I’ve sent in my SCEA application so nothing to worry about.
