Cross Campus LSA -->CoE Transfer

I'm a junior who is transferring into U of M in Fall '13. I'm in LSA right now with 53 credits going into my junior year, but I was wondering if there is any possible way that I could still switch into the CoE because I'm interested in their IOE program. I'll be taking some of the prerequisites (like Physics and EECS) this semester anyway because they coincide with my pre med requirements. I haven't yet completed the pre requisites, but would it be possible for me to transfer into the CoE for Winter '13 and still graduate in time (assuming that I take summer courses)?
Any help on this matter is appreciated!

i don’t think you’ll be able to finish ioe in 2 years because of the way prereqs work. if it is somehow possible, it’d be an extremely tight schedule, and you’ll want to plan it out before the beginning of the fall semester and have it reviewed by wanda dobberstein (the ioe undergrad adviser). btw, they don’t offer ioe courses during summer/spring terms, but you could get other degree requirements out of the way.

It’s possible but difficult to graduate within 2 years with just IOE requirements. It’s not possible to do all the IOE requirements alone in 1.5 years without all three overloading semesters.

TBH you’re already one semester behind (most people transfer in their sophomore year)… and you want to hold it off to your junior year 2nd semester? I mean I know it’s imaginary engineering and “instead of engineering” =DDD but they are still relatively competitive classes and overloading curved classes is always bad.

Thanks, all of these replies are helpful! How about if I spend next summer taking courses to take care of other major requirements? Or if I stayed on for an extra semester at Umich? Would all of this effort be worth it to do something that I think I’ll be interested in/ have access to the resources of the CoE?

No IOE major classes are offered in Spring/Summer. Best you could do is take some non-IOE engineering classes like EECS 270 or 280 or 215/314 (314 is listed, but likely either will count if you ask Wanda) to fill that requirement.
