<p>Is it possible to take cs61c before cs61b? I thought it was(since I knew someone who did it...I think), but the catalog says 61b/61bl is a pre-req for cs61b.</p>
<p>There isn't really anything in 61c that relies directly on what you learn in 61b. That being said, I would recommend taking 61b first in most cases simply because you will get more experience with programming before diving into 61c. If you are already pretty comfortable with C-based languages, then you'll be fine in 61c without having taken 61b.</p>
