In past years, they have accepted about 35 into the program. This year the waitlist is new so assume anywhere from 20-30 as posted on their website. You can also assume not all applicants on the waitlist will accept the offer so they may need to select more to fill the spots.
Much depends upon how many spots they need to fill.
Did you have to opt into the waitlist?
Yes @Gumbymom
So if you have to opt into the waitlist, then mostly likely not all applicants that have been waitlisted will put themselves on it which could further reduce the # of potential acceptances and increase your chances.
@Gumbymom I honestly hope so. I’m just kind of confused because my friends with a higher GPA and SAT score were rejected, and I was the only one waitlisted. I thought that the program accepts people with the higher scores?
@mgeronimo: The requirements (EI) listed are the minimum. How they decide whom goes on the waitlist is unknown unless some of your friends did not meet the Chemistry/Biology course requirements by end of 11th grade??
Does anyone know when csuf will begin to admit waitlisted applicants into their nursing program? :((
Based on my research so far, it seems like the EI threshold is increasing drastically each year. My CSU GPA is 4.08 and my SAT is 1410, making my EI 4674. I’m worried that it will increase again and CSUF may not be as safe for me as I would prefer it to be. What should I aim for my next SAT?
@mgeronimo and @Gumbymom and @futurenurse77 : I am currently a senior and I will be applying for the Entry Level Freshman Program this coming October. I completed Honors Biology (both semesters A-) and Honors Chemistry (A- and B+) and have an EI of 4,820 (4.2 GPA and 1460 SAT). Based on your experience, do you think I have a chance for direct admit?
@bayview1: Last year’s EI threshold for CSUF’s direct admit Nursing program was 4550, so you definitely exceed that threshold so you have a very good chance.
Thank you so much @Gumbymom for your quick response.
