CSU Fullerton, Azusa Pacific University, SDSU, UC Irvine

So I’ve applied to all these schools as a nursing major and I just wanted to know what my chances were for getting in to any of these schools.

If any nursing majors are out there that are attending any one of these schools, some feedback and your stats would be greatly appreciated

My stats are on the low side, but it’s because I skipped my junior year, so I’m a three year grad.

Does anyone know if being a three year grad will give me a competitive edge?

My Stats:

GPA: 3.43 weighted
SAT I: 1540 (I will be taking the SAT again in December as well as the ACT)

AP Classes:
European History
English Literature and Composition (in-progress)
Psychology (in-progress)
Government (planned)

Honors Classes:
Math Analysis (Pre-calc) (in-progress)
Chemistry (in-progress)
Economics (in-progress)

I also took three community college courses, so I have 10 transferable college credits.

The classes were:
Abnormal Psychology, US History, and English 101.

UCI/SDSU: Reach
CSUF: Low Reach
APU: High match

Your GPA and SAT scores are not competitive for Nursing. Why skip a grade since it would have been to your advantage to use the extra year to bump up your GPA and test scores. I hope you applied to a safety.

Good luck

It was recommended because if I took more classes, I would have struggled a lot. My college courses have actually been weighted so I have about a 3.51 gpa

For direct entry into Cal State Fullerton you would need to bump up your SAT Math and CR by a total of 350 points to make the minimum EI of 4200 using your 3.51 GPA or get an ACT score of around 30 to make the minimum. UCI is out of Reach unless you can bump up your GPA to 4.0+ and SAT to 2000 or ACT 31+. SDSU would also require similar stats into their direct entry program. You need to work on a realistic list and consider not applying to the direct entry programs but a pre-nursing program at a Cal State or CC and then transfer.

Good luck.

I’m taking both the SAT (again) and ACT in December, and I have been studying a lot, so I’m hopeful, but I do have back up plans such as CC etc.
