CSU part-time tuition

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with CSU part-time tuition. I feel like this could be a good option for me, but I am not quite sure how it works. Do I need to declare this somewhere or is my status (full-time vs part-time) determined when I register for classes? My understanding is 6 units or less is considered part-time for most CSUs, and 12 units is considered full-time. What happens if I take more than 6, but less than 12 units? Do I still pay full-time tuition? Or do I pay per units?

I think they all follow this framework pretty closely. Nearly $2200 a semester for 0-6 units vs about $3400 for full time. Community college is much more cost effective for a part time student.

@NCalRent Oh, nice! Thank you! I am kind of in a weird situation… I am not quite full-time, but my workload is normally about 10-11 units. I guess it would be best to make an effort, take on another unit, and become officially full-time.
