Do we pay the same tuition fee regardless of how many units we're takin each semester

Like, one student is taking 12 units this semester and another student is taking 18 units. Will their tuition for the semester cost the same or what?

I'm not sure but it looks like there are unit fees. But won't that be so messed up when we add and drop classes during the semester? Like if I already paid my fees and then dropped a class after, wouldn't that be a waste of money?

Yeah, I would like to know this too...i tried to look up online but couldn't find anything! So please let us know if anyone knows.

thanks in advacne

As long as you are taking at least 12 units (full-time status), you will pay the same amount for tuition.

what evilest^ said

why is my cal grant still unconfirmed ... its taking too long !!

UCSB is on a quarter system, btw.

^I know that though. I don't know why I wrote semester instead of quarter lol. I just keep confusing these 2 words because the fall quarter is about the same as the fall semester O_O (starts in august/september and ends in december)

If you are taking 12 units or more, you will pay full tuition. If you take less than 12 units, you can apply for a fee cut. To get a lesser fee, you have to meet certain criteria: work more than 36 (I think?) hours a week, or taking care of a relative, and there might be a couple others. If you're interested, you can call the advising office and ask what the exact criteria is.
