Hello, I have several questions based on the CSU Transcript Entry section.
So once I had placed all my A-G classes (except classes like P.E and what not) my GPA was a 2.85
I still have 5 college classes to place into my transcript (and the 6th is pending)
Would anyone happen to know what these college courses would go under in the A-G? Or if we do not put them under A-G?
My GPA with these courses adds up to a 3.30
Alliant International University
-HUM 1020 Interdisc Explorations
-FAR 1000 Intro to the Arts
-HUM 1030 Co-Curricular Activity - I forgot what this was
-ENG 1120 College Critical Thinking
Put these 4 under “G”, but I am not sure.
East Los Angeles College
-Political Science 001
-General Psychology 1
I think Poli Sci and Psych would go under “A”
But what about the other 4? I asked my counselors but they said they would get back to me after fall break because they would need to ask Alliant to make sure.
Is the GPA that is shown under A-G matching the GPA that admission offices will see?
I am applying to colleges currently so the whole process is strange for me.
Thanks
You can use this link not only for HS courses but community college courses.
https://hs-articulation.ucop.edu/agcourselist#/list/search/institution
On the left menu select Community College and then type in the name in the box below. It looks like Alliant International is not recognized by the website so your classes may not be considered or weighted. Definitely check with your counselors.
Your GPA will be recalculated based on your self report grades and courses if you make a mistake.
General Psychology 1 would go under Category G for College Prep Elective and you are correct that Political Science would go under Category A.
I did notice that the ENG 1120 course fulfills the Critical Thinking GE transfer requirement for the CSU’s so it should go under Category B- English.
FAR 1000 should go under Category F and the HUM 1020/1030 probably go under College Prep Electives Category G. Did you take these courses to fulfill the a-g required courses instead of taking similar courses in HS or are these extra after completing your HS a-g courses? Depending upon the schools, you may get extra weighting or not since not all CSU’s have an articulation agreement with Alliant.
No, these are extra courses. I did not use them to fulfill any A-G courses. But they are used for graduation, we need a minimum of 5 courses to graduate. And yes I understand that some schools won’t weigh them, but will the credits at least be transferred through? I believe so.
For the CSU’s, Political Science/Psychology/Critical Thinking and the Art class should transferable and should get you credit. Not sure about the Humanities classes. For the UC’s, I plugged in some of the Alliant classes for UC Berkeley and none came up as transferable but they also state that until your transcripts are accepted, they cannot evaluate courses from a private university. Psychology and Political Science will be UC transferable and you should get credit.
