CSU Application Problems

I’m working with my daughter to get her CSU app done. We’re running into a couple of problems with the online system:

  1. She was able to enter the transcript data in for one community college, but when she clicks on "Transcript Entry," and then the start button for the other community college, she gets a blank screen. There are no boxes displaying where she can enter the course information.
  2. She has taken Percussion for 9, 10, & 11th grades, and is currently taking it for 12th. It is an Area F class. When checking the "A-G Matching" section, the class is correctly labeled Area F for the 9th & 10th grades, but is missing the "F" designation for 11th & 12th. I checked the applicable A-G course lists at the UC website to confirm that they are considered Area F for all 4 years. She went ahead and applied the "F" label manually, but that then dropped her calculated GPA from 3.84 to 3.56. This makes no sense at all since she got an A in the class in 11th grade.

I’ve had two online chat sessions and sent an email to the help service, but have not received much help there. I thought I’d check in here to see if anyone else has encountered these issues. Also, if you make a manual change to the “A-G Matching” section, you should check to make sure that it doesn’t incorrectly change your GPA.

Thank, Gumbymom. The help info didn’t answer the issues we’re having above, but the information about adding middle school classes under Grade 9 was new to me. This was brought up in another thread.
