I am so confused about where to go. I need to make a decision to be guaranteed housing and an orientation date. I am also unsure of a major, but am leaning toward biological science. I am in love with the location of CSUF, but the idea of a UC makes me want to go to UCR. I think I will be happier at CSUF, but I don’t want to be making a big decision based on something so superficial as the location. Academically, which is better? What is the best decision?
Did you just get off the waitlist for one of these schools? Happy student= Successful student so if CSUF seems a better fit for you then CSUF is should be.
I was accepted off the waitlist to CSUF in mid May, but didn’t enroll. I am planning to appeal bc I missed the deadline. I am not sure what attracts me to CSUF, but something is making me want to go. A similar feeling made me choose UCR when I was making my decision for May 1 because I was choosing between UCR and CPP.
If you missed the deadline at CSUF and you need to appeal, you really have no choice at the moment. You SIR’d to UCR and it may take several months to have them make a decision on the appeal, so then I would go with UCR.
UCR is a very good school and if you are leaning towards a Biological science major, there will be many good research opportunities. If you feel an appeal to CSUF is worth losing out on UCR housing and choice orientation dates, then by all means pursue that avenue. Think if you get UCR a chance, you may be pleasantly surprised.
