<p>What's the area around it like? Is it a good education school? Is it safe, etc?</p>
<p>My younger D spent a year there.</p>
<p>Some neighborhoods are better than others, that is for sure. She lived a block and a half south of the campus and the neighborhood was very nice - lots of families. The college also has a shuttle to take students to and from some neighborhoods (D didn’t use it - it wasn’t necessary where she was). They just opened dorms this year.</p>
<p>As far as safety, the campus is extremely safe. Outside of campus you do need to be street-smart. It is Midwood Brooklyn, and like most areas of New York City you need to be aware of your surroundings and make smart choices, particularly after dark.</p>
<p>You can get a very good education there. My D was in Macaulay Honors, and Brooklyn College also has their own honors program.</p>
