I just got accepted at hunter! So incredibly happy, I was not expecting this at all!
Good luck to everyone else, check your spam folders for the e-mail, that’s where mine was

do they only email those who got accepted only?
like are they emailing admissions decissions or just acceptance letters?

Daffy: they emailed both acceptees and rejectees, if you’re talking about Hunter.

Earlier their server died, and they haven’t been able to get it back up, so the rest of the people who haven’t heard yet will have to wait for the snail mail until they fix it.

Question: If you were accepted to your CUNY school and are still waiting (or even during the waiting period to hear back from Macaulay) did you receive a financial aid package from your CUNY school?

D got into Macaulay Hunter! We’re really excited, especially because we don’t have much money.

Is there any current Macaulay Hunter student who would be willing to tell us pros/cons? They have an open house soon but it’s on a Tuesday (!). Thanks so mcuh.

@amoney: I got in. Though my mother had known 2 weeks prior, she still managed to muster up excitement.

If anyone wants to know stats, here are mine:
97% UW; 101.1 W
2270 (800CR, 710M, 760W)
Some pretty good, time-intensive, ECs (track, pit orchestras and the like, pianist for a few groups) w/ a few major awards, leader in most of my ECs
Average academic honors (National Achievement Scholar, National Merit Commended, some statewide awards)
You can PM me if you want more stuff.

And since I’ve been rejected from every major scholarship I applied to, it’s going to be Macaulay 2014 for me! :D

@CloudCult: It’s eerie that we have the same SAT scores on each section.

Soo, who’s going to the open house?

I’m considering going to the Open House and maybe the reception. It just sucks I have tests/quizzes the day of and the day after. Are any of you guys going to dorm? Their dorms are so spacious. But not too attractive.

Free dorm = good dorm, in my opinion. My brain shut down on January 22, so it doesn’t really matter that I have an AP Calc test, since I probably wasn’t gonna break a 75% anyway.

But where is everyone else who’s gotten into Hunter MHC? I’m not feeling the excitement, guys!

I got accepted MHC in Hunter and replied that I’m going already. I’m pretty psyched: this was my number one choice. I never saw the dorms but I’m deff dorming so it doesn’t matter what they’re like really.
I am wondering if Macaulay gets the final senior year grades though… i stopped doing all work in school and my grades have plummeted. I really hope not to get a letter telling me that they rescind their offer.

If your senior average doesn’t affect your official GPA (mine doesn’t), then I’d say don’t sweat it. And if it does, just don’t fail any classes or commit a homicide (or any of the other types of crimes that are available for your choosing). :)

I just went online and looked at some of the dorms. They’re not 5-star quality, but they’re pretty decent (i.e. way better than my bro’s hovel). I think you can find some dorm layouts on the MyChoice page that they provide you with. Did you do dorm selection already too?

Got into Macaulay Honors @ Baruch.

Stats: Around a 3.52, unweighted, 3.69 weighted.
SAT: 2130 combined.

EC: Few board positions, sports, music, volunteer.

Super excited, and I’m pretty sure i’m going!

I didn’t get into macaulay however i did recieve the Dean’s Scholar at Baruch College. I am quite confused of the benefits of this however because i thought that CUNY honors would be listed instead of “Dean’s Scholar”. SO i wondering, are there different types of scholarships within the Baruch system? Am i in Cuny honors? And if so what are the benefits besides full tuition because i thought that i would still recieve stipend books + Laptop and spending money.

By the way, do they check senior grades? Like final reports? I know I didn’t have to send a mid-year report, even though it was pretty good.
Second Semester Senior-itis is hitting pretty hard, so yeah…
^ at above, it doesn’t affect my GPA, it’s like a seperate senior gpa.

I will be attending Macaulay Baruch for the Class of 2014.

Stats:
91.7 UW Stuy HS avg
2210 SAT (690 CR 790 M 730 W)
32 ACT
800 Math II
700 Chemistry

Decent EC’s

for people who got in, what was the interview like? What did they ask, and what did they say?

another q:
when u got ur acceptance letter, was it thick, or like thin?

Congratulations for those who got into the Macaulay Honors College.

AWESOm:
-There was no interview. At least not for me. I’m in the 2012 class.
-The acceptance letter was just a white envelop and one or two pages.
-The other stuff came later.

P.S. The Honors College will spoil so much the first semester of your freshman year.
