CUNY, SUNY, and Private Schools in NYC

Hello,
I need suggestion on colleges to apply to. I have formulated a list and i just want you to add suggestions or input schools that would fit my major (Medical-Premed).

CUNY- Sophie Davis Schools Of Biomedical Education
CUNY Honors Hunter

SUNY- Stony Brook University
Binghamton
Geneseo (Unsure of the moment just let me know if you think its good)

Privates- Columbia University
NYU

If these is other schools in NY that you recommend just make a list. Also, is there any CUNY and SUNY colleges that you would recommend?
==Help is needed ASAP (schools needs applications by this week!!)==

Thank You to however replys

What are your stats? Sophie Davis has a well-renowned med program and my cousin graduated from there. He is now a cardiologist. From what I know its very competitive to get into it, but GL

I know that Sophie Davis is competive but if i get into it i will go there. Also, add CORNELL to the list above.

What are your stats? NYU has a really good pre-med program, so good choice. NYIT has a 7-year DO program. Its hard to tell without knowing your stats.

i have a 96 weighted average (i dont know what it would be out of a 4), Standerdized tests are 2150 for SAT and im prepping for ACT. Great ECS, and community service (too much to list).

I hope that helps

I've heard a lot of bad things about SOphie Davis from friends who graduated it. Be careful, they screw you over with that agreement, you get paid very little, and you work excruciating hours; you are exploited, in a sense.

Stony Brook is awesome for med. My friend's brother graduated valedictorian and got a full tuition scholarship to med school. A wise route.

CUNY Honors Hunter's great, too!

A word of caution, however:
CUNY Honors and S.D. are harder to get into than the Ivy League, statistic wise. VERY few spots, a LOAD of applicants.

Im applying to geneseo ED, personally I love the school. Lot of bio majors out of there for some reason :P. Geneseo is strong with the hard sciences.

Ok Genseo is in thanks to Tiss229. I still need more help, please keep it coming.

Fordham?

Its in the city, right next to Columbia

That is more of a law school i think. Anyway, MORE schools--just drop by and name a school :D

Maybe Cooper Union? Ridiculously tough to get into though. There's The New School, but that's really small, and Brooklyn College is gaining in reputation. Queens College as well.

Copper Union Admission is rediculous. About 9% or so are admitted. Anyway, MORE schools!!

So are the schools int he IVY League

yes that is true. So is this all the schools that are recommended or is there more in NY?

university of rochester

that is too far and i am not willing to go that far to college

If U of Rochester is too far for you then Geneseo will be also. Fordham has more than a law school but I'm not sure how science focused it is.

That is why i was unsure of Geneseo in the first place. More help is appreciated

It doesn't matter what you major in for Pre-Med, keep that in mind. You will have to take a string of courses in order to be accepted to medical school; however, these courses are only prep; there are not many to take. Thus, when you are Pre-Med, you are only following a track, not a major. This being said, keep your mind open: you can major in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology ... whatever.

From my above statement, I would suggest Sarah Lawrence College, which is just out side of NYC, I believe.

AS

yes thats correct. Thanks for the reminder Andrew. I guess there will be all the schools for now unless more are said
