Current UT Transfers Success

Hello,

I am curious to see how certain transfer students might do in their first year at UT Austin. I am a community college student interested in transferring to McCombs, and I wanted to know how much lower one’s GPA might be at UT than at their previous university or community college due to the rigor of UT.

So below, just tell your story and how you handled the transfer!

My only input is I know some people who CAP’s over from UTSA with 4.0’s, and they are struggling to get to a 3.0 (and likely will be in the 2’s somewhere). More work and much more competitive (as you would expect).

Click on the Report titled The Performance of Students Attending The University of Texas at Austin as a Result of the Coordinated Admission Program (May 2014). The data for non-cap transfers you seek start at Table 6. The mean GPA for ENTERING soph transfers is 3.72. For CAP, the transfer GPA was 3.61. The mean UT GPA for transfer students after the soph year is 3.05; 2.99 for CAP. Transfers perform better overall than CAP but not quite as well as those admitted as freshmen (soph GPA 3.18).

Thank you! This is exactly what I needed.
